I am glad to hear that the purse is better-lol. I am sorry to hear your cat is not. I am going through the same issue right now with my kitty. She is 7 yrs old and has been fixed. She just started spraying in my boys play room. The smell is almost unbearable. I have tried everything. I took her to the vet and he thought she might have a UTI, but could not check for sure w/o doing a urine test(evidently she needed to have a full bladder). We went home with some meds and $100.00 less in cash. A week later she was still doing it. The vet now wants to put her on kitty xanex-I do not. For now we have made her a "garage kitty" She has her bed, food and litter box all out there. We leave the garage door openjust a little so she can go out if she wants. We live out in the country where no one else is around. She just goes out at night and sits on our porch. She is doing great. My sanity is coming back-although I still feel guilty for giving her the boot. It really was the best thing for us. She was ruining our home. I cannot live with the idea that my guests would think our home stunk of cat pee. I would be so embarrased. My solution worked for us. I hope you can find a way to fix your situation also. good luck!

Hi Tara, I think that you are making the best decision that you can for your family. Try not to let other poster's make you feel guilty. If it came between my kids health and my cat there would be no decision to make. Some people don't understand that so don't let it get to you. A human's health is a lot more important than a cat's emotions. I know that you know that it is just that some of the comments that I am reading are ridiculous to me and I would feel this way regarless if I didn't dislike cats or didn't have children. Glad to hear your bag doesn't smell anymore.

My kitty, Tiger had to be an outside cat when he sprayed the walls of my home and started urinating on the carpet and in the bathtub instead of his box. To get the cat urine smell out of the carpet, pour hydrogen peroxide right on it then put a clean rag on top and something heavy on it and let it sit overnight. Warning: test the hydrogen peroxide on a spot of the carpet that cannot be seen first like in the closet. My carpet's color did not change so it was okay. I found that it is the ONLY way to get rid of that strong, musky smell. Don't put it on a Coach purse, though. It might bleach it out.

I surely agree with her. I have a cousin who thinks cats are worth as much as humans. I find that disturbing. Also, my brother-in-law's wife has cats in her apt. and everyone is always sick who lives there. Their whole family has to go to the doctor many times. Their apt. is so small so they keep the litter box right in the bathtub. Their children take baths in that same tub. (gross!!!) She keeps the cat's food bowl right on the kitchen counter and the cats are always jumping up there. Their house smells so bad that I can hardly breath. Cat hair is so thick all over their sofas. They all have asthma problems. C'mon, who can live like that, seriously.

Yuck, there are ways to have cats and still keep the place sanitary. That's just nasty!!
