My bag came in used and damaged condition!

There is no reason to think that the certificate is not a gesture of goodwill from them, it would seem inappropriate if it were only given to you as a bribe, to get you to keep damaged merchandise. You did not purchase a used bag - elux, is not ebay - you expected brand new bag, period, end of story.

You paid too much ($800, right) to make up for the used quality - $50 GC is paramount to a little over 5% off that bag - sheesh, we all know that if that bag made its way to a second chance store due to it's used/defects it would be offered at 30%-40% off.

Send that bag back and use your GC.
 
Can you clean the stuff of the bag?. If you cant just return it,and go online and search for another one. There MUST be another store online that sells that bag!
 
I just received a BV ball bag from NM that I ordered online. It has a pen mark and it's been bugging me--so I can imagine how you must feel. Especially since yours is worse!

I would return the purse and demand a credit for ALL charges, including the shipping you paid and the shipping you'll pay to return the purse to them. That's just wrong.

I've decided that I'm returning my ball purse and even though another one is back on their website, I think I'm going to pass. I'm going to by my ball bag either at the BV store or at my local Nordy's. I just need to inspect the bag when it's a huge purchase. And it should be perfect for the money you're spending.

how do i clean off scratches on nickel metal?? there's also some puncture holes in the sides of the bag under the nickel metal rings. i noticed these last night...:evil:

i read your thread. ugh. it would seriously bother me too. what a careless salesperson. yes, DEFINITELY inspect large purchases.
i've learned my lesson
 
I'm surprised to hear these reports about Eluxury and Zappos! I've had great customer service from them and they've always gone out of their way to make exceptions for me.

The the original poster, I would definitely want a refund AND a gift certificate. Don't let them get away with this!!
 
This is the second thread I have read about someone receiving damaged bags. For what we invest in a bag I am amazed that anyone would think of asking if they should keep it. Hell no!!!

Horrible! I can't imagine such a big website could do such thing to its customers! It is so degrading and it is definitely ruinning it's own reputation by doing this!

I can't agree more with you all. A full refund plus the gift certificate!
 
Has anyone seen this bag ANYWHERE? eLuxury's all sold out and I've look everywhere. I'm so in love with this bag, I don't want to return it even though it'd be wise to. I'm so sad. :cry:


IF i were to keep it, should I demand a bigger discount and if so, how much?

I too am surprised at Eluxury. From the email I didn't get that they were saying they're ONLY giving you the GC. When you go to the website there is a live chat option. Use that and tell them what happened. Its completely unacceptable for them not the accept the return. For a company of such high stature, I would think they would remedy your situation.

-scratches on the magnetic lock
-something sticky/food(?!) on the magnetic lock
-scratches on the leather
-DEEP and shallow scratches on the nickel balls from the hanging straps

what a horrible person to SERIOUSLY USE it and return it. ugh.. eluxury needs to examine their bags more carefully



after MANY MANY emails, instead of returning the bag I was offered a $50 giftcard to eLuxury and refund on shipping($20). is it worth it??? considering I paid about $800... :\

$50. !!! that not even 10%! return it and if they want the gift card back - let them keep it. I wouldn't deal with them any more. Besides they use wierd photos. Some of Vuittons are wrong.
 
If you love that bag that much start negotiating with eLuxury. Be firm with them and speak with an agent who has the access to "mark down" an item. I would ask for a 50% off and keep the gift certificate for lying to you. Be ready to justify why you feel 50% off is fair. Sell your reasons. Good Luck.
