Another preloved update, I’d love to know how they’re pricing these, £445 seems reasonable for a looked after secondhand Bayswater tote, whereas £545 seems excessive for an SBS in absolutely wrecked condition

I wondered that too. Do you think the availability they have of similar styles plus ability to buy that style new make a difference? And perhaps the age of the bag - costs more if it’s newer even if worn as original price would have been higher. I have never bought preloved bags. Unless they are in immaculate condition I’m not tempted and then the price is usually so close to new that I’m less tempted. It would need to be something I couldn’t get to make me consider it.

I bet it’s something to with the fact that when they buy them in they pay the owner a proportion of the original new price. But quite a few of the bags look really ropey to me. Stains and pen marks are just yucky. And I think I‘m seeing some of the R’s are stamped over O marks, indicating they were originally seconds? Anyway for a nearly new price I wouldn’t be willing to accept anything other than a nearly new bag.

Yeah, it must be something like availability and desirability, which would explain why almost all of the Bayswaters are the same price regardless of their age and condition. I’m not sure I agree with that policy, for me as a pre-loved buyer the condition is very important and should be reflected in the price.

I'm a big pre-loved fan, about half my collection are pretty-loved bags and if I’m honest nowadays I prefer buying from naughtipidgin or LMW to mulberry direct as the customer service is so good.

Yeah, they have list prices for buying so probably have list prices for selling too :-/

I absolutely agree about the ropey bags. I don’t mind a patina or signs of use and own a wonderfully squishy pre-loved Mabel, but rough corners which are visible on several of the bags put me right off as it’s such an expensive repair when the piping comes through. £695 for a pre-loved bays, then £100+ to repair the piping = almost the same cost as new!

I love a Mabel !!!

Could you say more about what the R and O stamps mean? I haven't browsed the Mulberry website in months and this pre-loved selection is entirely new to me. Thank you for your help!
O stamps used to mark slight seconds which they sold from the Mulberry factory shop. OO indicated a more significant fault. They’re now putting R stamps on the bags they’ve refurbished at the factory.
I was looking at a Bayswater only yesterday and I could clearly see an O partially covered by the R. Hth.

Nipped into the Edinburgh M store & their pre-loved section was absolutely drool-worthy, lots from 2008-13ish - off the top of my head they had Mabel and hobo Mabel in black, a grape Alexa, a nude plonge Alexa in stunning condition, silky snake small oak bays & a selection of Antonys

staff were absolutely lovely and mentioned that they put things aside for people travelling down if you phone ahead

I grabbed the grape Alexa this week while I was there and an NVT oak Bayswater in Glasgow. Sometimes traveling for work does have it’s benefits, especially as my closest store is 6+ hours away here in the US.
