This past year I would have to say the Hermes Evelyne, I'm guessing because it's one of the only bags that's nearly always in stock at my local H. However, if I go downtown, it would be a mix of neverfuls, Chanel flaps and Michael kors.

Upstate South Carolina here, rather poor area (compared to many parts of the United States). Designer handbags are not a big thing here. I've seen a few (bad) fake Guccis and LVs and some authentic Michael Kors (probably because they're sold at a Target the next town over). That's about it.

Switzerland: In the designer bag category, LV Neverfull, hands down. They are everywhere and very few fakes (this being a country that takes counterfeits seriously, it's considered very poor form to knowingly carry/wear a fake). Next up, a Prada Saffiano tote or Vitello Daino bag. For non-designer, Longchamp Pliage. And some Michael Kors totes, mostly carried by younger women. For men, LV leather messenger bags.

And a surprising number of Birkins, real ones. I went to a women's networking party a few weeks ago. Of the 15 women there, four had Birkins.

i live in the gold coast in chicago, IL, and i see such a huge range of bag brands from designer (goyard, LV, and contemporary) to just cool and functional to outlet brands to no name. there are more LV than any other, but that may be because everyone has a canvas bag. i actually like the see the range of bags because it does give you an idea of what the less popular (LV) handbags look like in person (size, shape, etc), but also that everyone seems to just "own" whatever they are wearing. i love that individuality. i don't care for going to the airport anywhere and seeing LV neverfulls on every other woman, and no need to offend, but I'm glad that i wasn't ever tempted to buy one.

Los Angeles here. Huge variety depending on the area.

Contemporary brands win out by miles. As in, 9 contemporary to every 1 premium brand. MK, Coach, Dooney and Bourke. Kate Spade and Tory Burch are more popular in the yuppie circles.

Among premiums, I've seen lots of Goyard totes, Gucci canvas, and Chanel. However, due to the volume of people carrying Chanels, I assume at least some are fakes, because majority of people can't afford a 5k bag.

I've also seen Dior, Celine, Fendi, YSL, Balenciaga, and just last weekend, the first ferragamo in the wild.

However, LV is still the most common premium brand, especially the Speedy and Neverfull.

I notice the Neverfull getting bagged on (pun somewhat intended) a lot in this thread, but truly, I think the ubiquitousness of this bag is seriously blown out of proportion. I think people NOTICE it more since it's LV, and people have a kind of reverse snobbishness against logo'd and canvas bags, but I see way more contemporary bags than I see neverfulls. Even if they were as common as people claim, I would never stop wearing my 2 neverfulls! I didn't get them because I wanted to be different. None of us are unique. I got them because they're that awesome and useful. Apparently lots of people had the same idea!

I live between San Francisco and Sacramento, CA. It's all Michael Kors, Coach, Kate Spade, and Dooney & Burke, probably because there's a huge outlet mall here with those stores. On the other hand, I see everything in SF. You walk around Post and Grant, and every woman and their mother is carrying a Birkin. Lots of Chanel boy bags, Goyard St. Louis, I even saw a Faure Le Page Parade bag, which was exciting.
