I wonder if border clients have done well establishing themselves as “local” clients. With the CAD where it is, it pricing out of Canada is quite competitive and if global visibility hasn’t hit yet, they wouldn’t see the US profiles. I know our Canadian TPFers lament the lack of stock in store but I do wonder if these shops see some bigwigs from due south.
Yes, I know several people who double dip with both US and Canadian profiles, making both sides more difficult.

I don’t see the point? If the picotin and evie bags are display only, stock must be low low. You’d just be building a profile that would lead to frustration. I guess that we just like having our chats and shopping sessions with our SA. We tend to browse at other boutiques with picking up the occasional souvenir.

Montreal has lots of different categories so if you’re looking for stuff and not expecting a quota bag quickly, it could be a great place to go. (e.g. their cold weather items like gloves and coats were a good selection). I just don’t see it being a great home store for those folks that tend to start the typical threads of “just moved or just started my journey, etc “

Stock for high demand items is very low in Montreal and the demand is high. The store and service are amazing. The SAs are great. I have an amazing SA but the spend and loyalty required for bags is really high and bags are really reserved for locals.

Do you know the pre-spend quota? Is it higher than 2:1?
While there is no official pre spend, I did see a client being offered a mini box Kelly in the middle of the store while I was there this summer. (It is a small store so no private area.) The SA and client was also discussing the order of multiple pieces of furniture - to give some context. So while this may not be the average situation, one must assume it is fairly competitive to get anything of note.

Just wanted to give a quick status report for those interested in this location… Stopped by this weekend and the traffic in the store was almost non existent. Multiple sales associates just hanging around chitchatting. They were all very eager to help though! Probably it was the post holiday lull coupled with the price increase that kept people away. A black birkin désordre, a gold on gold B25, and a GM Evelyn (Gris étain maybe?) were on display. They haven’t received a lot of the SS24 rtw yet (i think all those pieces are being kept in Toronto for the upcoming RTW preview show) but orans, watches and FJ seemed well stocked. I just picked up a Twilly.

Thanks for the status report. I’m out of province and don’t get there often so I appreciate the info. I am surprised they had a Birkin desordre on display. Very cool. In my experience the bag display has been pretty low key. That gives me hope that stock will keep getting better.
Me too! Never even seen a QB on display ever. Also, I'm glad to see some activity on the Montreal thread.

So apparently Toronto has a new store director and it has been speculated that that is the reason for some changes in store policy (namely store hours closing on Sundays, displays/ordering protocols etc). Anyways, I was just wondering how this impacts, if any, the Montreal store since the old director was technically in charge of both stores for approving QB allotment etc.

I’m stopping by the store tomorrow as a tourist. If I purchase for the MTL store, would it count as pre spend in Canada at my home boutique? There a few FJ pieces I’m eyeing that I haven’t seen at the TO store in over 8 months.

No, you have to shop with your SA at your home store for it to count as pre-spend. I would try what's availabe at the mtl store and then ask your Toronto SA if he can transfer those pieces. :)

Just came back from a roadtrip to Quebec and Montreal, with a quick stop at Holt Renfrew. (I've been looking to add a croc Calvi to my small collection.) This was news to me, but this H location does not have any exotics at all! Apparently to stand in uniformity with the Holt Renfrew commitment to be fur- and exotic-skin free, which I can respect as their choice.

Smaller location but with very healthy traffic, as experienced by us while there. Nice display of bags, I vaguely recall a few: B30, K25, Herbag, GP, mini Lindy, maybe a Toolbox? (but don't quote me on that last one)
Ended up with an epsom Bearn wallet in Mauve Pale

Yup, no exotics! Did they have some pink other than mauve pale? Looking for mauve sylvestre pieces. 😅
