I just noticed the STRANGEST thing!
I checked on the French website. All three colors have stitching. I was going to take pictures to show you guys.

I am using my phone.
I click on the red. Stitching.
I zoom to take a picture for you: stitching disappears! I swear this is true. And the studs disappeared in the process as well. See for yourselves

Well.... I called my SA and they are ordering me a replacement strap with stitching. This is a big deal you guys. How is this going to impact resale of the bag for those who do not have the stitching compared with those that do? How is the strap going to wear? We are paying the same amount for the bag - so why are some getting the stitchign and others are not? Seems arbitrary. It would have been different if NONE of the bags had stitching - we would all be in the same boat - but for some to have it and others not???

Exactly.

I think they are going to have to be open to replacing the strap for everyone. We should have a right to choose.
Also, I am so mad that some as passing as counterfeit.

They made a huge mistake in my opinion, we all thought we were getting the same bag after all.

Did your SA provide an explanation? Why two versions?

I just sent LV a message on Facebook Messenger. Let's see the response. Because I have 2 bags without stitching and 1 needs replaced and was ordered already.

Having read LV's after care service towards their goods, compared to other brands, I don't see the big deal of stitching and no stitching.

While it is odd, I feel like we're all making a mountain out of a molehill. I can understand people's preference, but it's a new bag. Yes they should have decided which one to go with before actually releasing the bag, but how cool would it be to say you got the first release and it's unique cos it does or doesn't have stitching.

If at the end, one turns out to be more prone to damage, by then they would have realized that and as a company, know to take care of their customers by hopefully replacing the strap.

This is my first LV bag though, maybe I'm still naive about their whole process.

That's why I am going to source. Which is asking Louis Vuitton.

What really bugs me is the lack of coherence. LV is a big company and it annoys me very much that they show a clear lack of consistency. WHY would they release two different types of straps on such a new bag? Has one of them not been tested enough? I really don't know. Besides, many people have true horror stories about LV after sales service.

Got a reply from LV. Well...not really. Just said I should contact my SA and they are sorry I'm not happy with the strap. Totally disregarded my question on the 2 different straps. I didn't say I was unhappy with my strap, yet that was the reply. [emoji848]

I have been buying LV for years. While yes they often change things on new releases - I never thought it was a big enough issue to question quality or resale for that matter. When it comes to resale it really is based on the bag type and the condition the bag is in - not whether a strap has stitching or not. Also because I have been a long time customer - I do know that LV will take care of any thing down the line if need be. Too much stressing out on something way too insignificant- just enjoy your bags ladies.

Demanding an answer from LV - good luck with that.
