Monistat chafing gel as a face primer?

I finally got some last weekend at trusty Wal Mart for $5-something. It does work just as well as any of the pricey versions. I broke out a little this week but I think it's because of the humid weather, not so much the product.

I finally picked this up last weekend, after finding myself at the same Walmart and aisle. I just never looked down. I use it now instead of my Smash box, because it controls my oils better and has more of silky feel to it.

The only problem I've had is that I was still searching for a good foundation after I started using the Monistat. I would tell the SA that I used primer and they always wanted to know which one. I always told them Smashbox since it was just easier than explaining!

no problem :) the reason I say that, is because primers are like temporary pore fillers and the sunscreen would be blocked. I couldn't find this at my nearest target :(( had to go to walmart to find it.

Monistat is just being used as a primer. It smooths out fine lines and pores so that your foundation will sit on your face in a more flawless finish. Its effects are subtle, but it does make your makeup more even.

Preparation H (as far as I know) is used to tighten skin, like for loose skin around your eyes and mouth.

... monistat OR Prep-H ...
completely different products.

Monistat chafing gel, and all the various genetic clones, have only one active ingredient: Dimethicone. That is what the fancy primers have, too, and that is why the chafing gel works.

Prep-H has a history of being used to shrink undereye swelling, however, the some say that while this is OK to do once in a while, for a special occasion, photos, etc, that it is not a good idea to do every day, something about making the tissues too elastic and stretchy, other people claim to have done it daily for decades with no problem, but the point is that one has nothing to do with the other, we are talking about different substances and different uses.

The other day I saw an ad for an eye puffiness thing that is supposed to contain caffeine, also an ingredient in Maybelline Age Rewind.

I guess that is the modern equivalent of putting wet teabags on your eyelids!
