Moncler vs Canada Goose

As an owner of both, Canada Goose (because of their thicker layer of fabric, as well as the thicker down and down layers) tends to feel a lot warmer. However, do not invest in the shorter styles, as Canadian winters seem to creep up from your legs. :snowballs: Get a longer parka. I find my Rudsak coat the warmest of all my coats, but Canada Goose makes for a better everyday, wear-and-tear warm kind of coat. Rudsak focuses more on fashion, as I find Moncler does. Canada Goose is a win for a first-timer who needs to be warm.

If you aim for warm, go Canada Goose. I don't own one but I did borrowed a CG coat from my friend once. It is warmer than my Moncler(Probably because mine is from the designer line not full down coat, but still) and it is cheaper. I was in Boston where winter felt like north pole. So I think you are good to go.

I live in Toronto where it gets to -15.
Most people wear Canada goose here.
I have 2 moncler down long jackets from a long time ago (with better filling) that are warm enough for say -5 but not -15

I prefer Moncler when the temperature is above zero and Canada Goose for below zero. I got more use out of my Moncler last winter since I found it sufficiently warm for most days. Plus I prefer the look of my Moncler puffer. I have the Canada Goose Kensington parka and I look like I'm on ski patrol wearing that coat!

i own both canada goose and moncler. For normal wear, i prefer canada goose, as it's more sturdy and can take a beating. I can easily wipe it down shall it get dirty and it does when you get in and out of cars and such.

for my moncler, i'd wear it when i go out with friends on weekends and such. It's more stylish however not as warm as my canada goose.

You might want to look into Nobis also. They make good warm winter jackets and a bit more stylish than canada goose.

I own both - Canada Goose is warmer if you buy one of their expedition rated jackets. Moncler is also very warm, but I don't worry about my CG getting dirty - whereas I baby the Moncler more. I also bought a below the hip CG and it really is amazing in below zero windchills

Dear ladies, I live in the sunny tropics and I have suffered through a few winter trips with Zara coats with miserable results. I have learnt my lesson and finally saved enough for a good down coat.

I am leaning towards Moncler over CG because of the sharper fit. However, I am concerned that most Moncler coats don't come with a fur hood, whereas CG believes fur keeps one warmer. The particular coat I like from Moncler that fits me the best is the Taleve, but at this price, it doesn't even have a fur hood :( I can go for another design that has a fur hood but that makes me look like Michelin Girl (and at this price I really want to look like Wonder Woman instead).

Thank you for any kind suggestions! :)

Hi All,

Help me decide between:

Moncler Gamme Rouge Harmony Padded Coat: it’s sort of plain looking

Burberry Gibbsmoore: doesn’t have the Burberry plaid print anywhere

Burberry Baughton: not a huge fan of the puffer jacket

Thoughts?

I have the CG Solaris (discontinued) the fur does not shed onto my coat which is navy so it would show. It’s also removable. This is the warmest coat I own I LOVE - if it’s 30 degrees or above it’s usually too warm for me but was perfect Monday when it was 1 degree. I wasn’t cold. May not be the most stylish but when it’s that cold out I don’t really care - I just want to be warm. I have a couple other more stylish down coats I wear when it’s above 25-30 out.

Oh moncler jackets come with fur for sure but you pay much more for them than CG, which is why people regard CG a better alternative/value. What about mackage?

I'm someone who's always cold and the full-length Canada Goose keeps me warm. It looks like a walking blanket, but everyone in the Northeast looks like that in winter.n

Can anyone run down the different Moncler coats and their level of warmth. I have a canada goose which keeps me warm but I'm tired of the bulkiness. I like the look of the flamette , taleve and bogue but I don't know if they will keep me warm walking around nyc.

I also like this that I saw on far fetch but again I'm worried about warmth
