Moncler vs Canada Goose

Funny how no one has mentioned Bogner - definitely the most stylish.
As a skier, I am told by Gorsuch (which sells all of these designers) that Bogner is the warmest.

I have a long belted Moncler that kept me sufficiently warm when my boys were little and played ice hockey....very simple (boring?) design. I have ski wear from Parajumpers and that's probably not as warm as Moncler, but I am wearing more layers beneath. Styling is brilliant for skiing, with a hood latch so your hood stays up while you're skiing, and tons of pockets and zipper pulls. I also have a set from Sportalm, but that is hard to find. My next ski-type coat, however, will definitely be Bogner. Fabulous styling AND warmth.

Received the parajumpers coat and love it but it doesn't fit! So bummed - it's too tight and the arms are already too long so a larger size won't work - back to the drawing board....

The difference between Moncler and Canada Goose is that 90% of the people does not NEED CG. CG is specialized for weathers below -10. They really keep you warm, but they are also heavy. I have Woolrich (John Rich), Moncler and tried CG, but CG is by far the heaviest coat I have ever tried on.

Moncler is soft, lightweight, keeps you warm and is stylish. Woolrich is simple and keeps me warm. Does feel a bit heavy compared to Moncler.

Note that Moncler is NOT good against rain. If you live in a rainy area I would not recommend Moncler. Moncler has only 2 layers to the Duck Down. When water comes in, you will lose warmth. Dry-clean it and it will keep you warm again.

DO NOT DRY-CLEAN CG or WOOLRICH. Heard from many people that the hard outside layer will be damaged. Its like jeans. The harder they are, the less wind comes in. After a dry-cleaning it will becomes softer and loses its projection. Just steam the dirty spots off.

I don't really like any of CG or Moncler. I prefer Woolrich (have the womens arctic parka). Much more feminine and you won't look like the Michelin man.

Hi! Can I ask which one you have?
They're both the same name and I'm trying to figure out how they're different.

Separately, does anyone have any experience buying jackets (minus, CG, woolrich) on eBay?

TIA!!

The left jacket is JOHN RICH WOOLRICH, designed by Italians. Woolrich has been partly taken over by Italians. This is the popular version you can buy in a lot of shopping malls for 600-700 euro's

The right version is not available in Europe at any detailer. I have never worn the version on the right, so I cannot tell you if its warm, but I do know that a lot of people think the right version is a fake. But its not.

Buying on Ebay, yeah I have sold a couple and bought a couple. There are a lot of fakes, sometimes you can spot them easily on pictures, sometimes you will know once you recieve it. Just know that even on Ebay those things are not €200 pre-owned.

Canada Goose: kinda frumpy looking imo... Not very stylish, although popular in many parts of Canada (except Montreal). Heavy parka-like, but certainly does keep you very warm. Good for extreme cold weathers.

Moncler: Very stylish, light-weight, good for every day AND if you're very sporty, eg. ski, snow board, skate...etc. I need to vent my body heat when I'm doing sports, so I always grab my Moncler coat, even if it's -20C outside. I get really hot, otherwise if I'm in Canada Goose or other coats which only insulate, but do not "ventilate". Downside to Moncler is that if I'm NOT doing sports, it's not warm enough for -20C and is pricey.

Mackage: Best option for in between Moncler and Canada Goose. These are my everyday coats actually, cuz they're very light weight but "double layered" keeping me super warm without feeling heavy like Canada Goose. Price is also quite affordable, not to mention very edgy/stylish.

I couldn't find the Canada Goose Kensington I wanted in grey - ANYWHERE - and found the Moncler to be a little too pricey/not quite warm enough for my new Midwest weather.

I decided to go with the Eileen in black from Mackage. It's awesome and I completely love it. It has a feminine cut (which the Kensington was missing,) hits above the knee, even on my my dwarf body and it is incredibly warm. My only critique is the pockets. They have a button snap, but, also a zipper and I have to gingerly stuff my frozen hands past the zipper teeth!

Besides, as I went with the black Mackage, that still leaves a window of opportunity for a grey Kensington if it ever pops back up

I have: Parajumpers Harraseeket & Mackage Janie & Burberry Brit Puffer & Dawn Levy puffer coat & now I am waiting to receive Moncler Anglas. I am size M in most of the companies. I had to take size L in Parajumpers, size L in Burberry (but it's on the loose side), size M is Dawn Levy and I ordered size 3 in Moncler. I must say that my Burberry puffer is the warmest so far; 2nd place my Mackage; 3rd -Parajumpers but almost as warm as Mackage. Dawn Levy is stylish but barely keeps me warm in cold days. I can't wait for the Moncler one. The most comfortable is Parajumpers because the puffer coat is lightweight compared to others. Mackage is heavy even though it is a short puffer. I did not get a Canada Goose..not yet...but I heard it is on the heavy side.

hey guys!
I will be moving to somewhere colder this year (-15 Celcius-ish/5 degrees in Fahrenheit in the winter). Being someone who has never owned a winter jacket, can any one help me decide if I should purchase a Moncler or a Canada goose jacket? Would the Canada goose jacket be too much for where I am going? Thank you !!:smile1:

Hi! I think the Canada Goose brand is probably better because they really are made in Canada. Moncler seems to be made in some other foreign countries but they still charge outrageous prices. Good luck with your decision! :)
