My worry about the Asha when trying to decide between Asha and Moissanite was that I read on another forum that the coating can come off the Asha after a while and that rather put me off.

the coating doesn't wear off on the asha, but it can get scratched if a jeweler doesn't know how to set it correctly.

Oh. My. Gosh. Thank You!!! I adore the prongs on both princess rings; we seem to go for the same styles!

blingaholic, those examples are exceptional. I see the difference between the RG and CW InterLaps, especially in the first picture. The CW has that warmth to it that sets off the colors within. I see a visible difference in how the facets appear between the two, my RG is the same as yours, it has the whiteness I much prefer, but there's something about the surface that seems flat to me, happening only when I'm staring obsessively at it face up indoors. :p

I'm definitely going to give the Chinese White some consideration for my next piece!

blingaholic- I love the CW! It is very nice- and does have a very realistic look. The warmer colored Asha stones are really nice too. I really like your cushion and your co-workers ring.

thanks, elizat :smile1:

chinese white and light yellow are my two fave colors for these CZs. they're amazing!

i pre-orderd a 1ct asha OEC and it should be finished soon. i am so excited about it! it'll be the 2nd asha i own. i know the wife of a moissanite retailer who wears a 2ct asha asscher e-ring with small asscher diamonds in the shank and a matching asscher diamond eternity band. she said one time she went to a tradeshow with her husband and the other jewelers were louping her asha and had no idea it wasn't a genuine diamond.

^hi elizat, yes, I ordered from them and received very pleasant service.

I wish my camera was better at capturing my diamond plat anni band and diamond e-ring alongside the interlap cz ring. I'll keep trying for anyone interested...

p.s. totally aside, I've been noticing on my diamond e-ring there is a circular shadow toward the bottom of the stone. Anyone know why this is? Is there a problem with the culet or is it the cut? Other angles ok, just head on it is visible. Never noticed it before, it is G/VS2 princess

rainwoman, i believe you're seeing what's called a "window." it has to do with how light reflects and refracts in your stone. ALL diamonds have this to some extent at certain angles, just some more than others, depending on how well-cut the diamond is.

^^ ahh, thank you for the explanation blingaholic. I cleaned the e-ring best I could by hand and it was probably dirt at the underside of the stone preventing light coming through. I see much less window now.

Does anyone clean their Asha-Moissanites-CZ -- with what?

Here is the Interlap 7mm cz ring sitting between my e- and anni diamond rings, taken outdoors this time. Size 7.25 finger.

I had been surprised at how large the cz looked once it was set in the prongs (add 1mm around perimeter for prongs) and wondered if I should have chosen a smaller mm size. But I got over that real fast!! I'm loving it, it is a great *bling ring* :girlsigh:

oh, rainwoman, you HAVE to order the gemcare kit from wink! that stuff will make your rings SPARKLE like NEVER before. wink's got the best deal on gemcare. his kit comes with the gold & platinum polishing paste, gemcare concentrated packet, a toothbrush, a polishing cloth, the container and a dip basket. he might throw some mints in, too. i clean my diamonds, my gemstones, my CZs and my pearls (don't soak pearl strands and don't soak anything that is glued onto the setting. gemcare will dissolve it).

i LOVE gemcare and the paste. when i first got it, i found myself taking out ALL my jewelry to clean it. the paste is AMAZING for taking the tarnish off your gold, silver and platinum. i haven't had to rhodium plate my WG wedding band since may 2007, and i usually have to do it about every 2-3 months. now i realize it's just tarnish on the gold.

I think the interlap is nicer ever time I see it. It looks really great with your e-ring- in photos, I don't see a huge difference. Do you see one IRL? It looks great with your band. I think it is a great size. Not OTT, IMO!
