Sorry I mean when you have the chains in your hand LOL.
good thoughtCan you imagine what it'll be like in 5 or 10 years? You might be wishing then that you should've kept the one from 2019. Just sayin'.
They absolutely should’ve have repaired or replaced for you that does not sound like normal wear and tear especially under a year!I would return regardless of how you feel now. I got a DE MP in February 2018 and within 8 months the D-rings and clasps had chipped and the gold had all worn off. It was black underneath! I hardly wear makeup or perfume so that wasn't the cause! My SA tried to tell me Germ-x would deteriorate it... but I don't wear Germ-x... I just ended up selling mine and I stick to preloved LV now.
Edit: The chain itself was fine, but the clasp and D-rings were awful. So sad. That was my first boutique purchase and I'll never do that again.
I know, I talked to my SA and customer service and they kept insisting it was practically my fault. The item was NOT showing up under my account which was weird since I did buy it DIRECTLY from the boutique and had the receipt with MY name on it. Maybe I just don't matter because I don't have an extensive history. I babied that bag as well as I could since it was my first brand new LV. Guess MIF is overhyped. :/They absolutely should’ve have repaired or replaced for you that does not sound like normal wear and tear especially under a year!
It got through QC because the print is always and deliberately faint.Looked at the DA in store today and I must say I was not impressed with the printing. The Louis Vuitton written in the little squares were not sharp/bold and neat and seemed almost misprinted. Not sure how it got through QC.

Not all bags and items are made with the same canvas. Louis Vuitton uses different canvases with different thicknesses and different levels of pliability.I think all brands can have problems such as this, I do think they should have replaced the piece in the above post but I think most of the so-called quality issues we see posted about are exaggerated. The canvas is thinner now, I just took out 3 of my bags from 95' 08' and 18' the canvas from 95' was 1.3mm without a cross grain leather lining, the 08' bag was 2.3mm with a cross-grain leather lining and the 18' bag was 1.5 mm with a cross grain leather lining. Take this with a grain of salt though because the leather lining has changed and has likely thinned as well. I am not saying this lowers the quality however because the canvas structure has changed as well as have the silk screen methods used to print the LV logo on the bag, I used a macro lens to see some differences between the above bags as well.
but of course, I for one have one of their older Laguito briefcases with a very stiff and thick canvas on the outside while a thinner canvas lining the pockets. Some canvases in stiffer bags even have a second canvas backing stitched on (same cotton material as the canvas that is used in the coated part but this one is in fact not coated). To omit these stylistic differences these measurements were all made on very soft canvases at the edges of bags where the most accurate measurements can be made. Not all bags and items are made with the same canvas.
