I have a square mini with the same type of issue, wrinkling that makes it look like the leather is going to rip. I kept it though and nothing has happened (and I am far from babying it), I’ve had it for 18 months.
It all depends on the leather batch your bag was made from. It’s not a defect per say.
As far as puff goes, chanel bags are not supposed to be super puffy.
However, I’d say return it if it bothers you because, at this price point, you should be absolutely in love with it.
Thanks for your feedback! So helpful! As much as it pains me to say it, I will probably end up returning it. I just don’t know if I can get over the wrinkles on a brand new bag. I totally understand that wrinkles are inevitable, but I just can’t see myself settling for a bag, especially at this price point. On the flip side, I know this bag is hard to come by. I hate that I’m SO picky which makes me wonder if I’ll EVER be happy with a Chanel.

Hi everyone! I am new here and I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I just purchased this navy blue lambskin Chanel mini with light gold hardware and it has the gold top handle that says Chanel. I am so in love with this bag but I really was shocked as to how actually mini this bag is. It almost looks like a toy purse. Do you guys think this size looks silly on my frame? I have a black old medium boy bag and I also have a nude small Chanel 19 so I think I am just not used to a bag this small. Do you think this bag would also age well? Or do you feel like it’s geared towards more of a younger generation. I am 33 right now but I like my Chanel bags to be pieces that I can continue wearing for years to come.

The classic campaign from last year showed Anna Mouglalis with the Mini square- she is in her mid fourties I think and I see her and us still wearing minis in 20+ years
Style has no age and we should wear what we like. And you sound over the moon with this mini!

The second option. I keep the chains inside if possible and the bit of the chain outside on top of the bag is wrapped in felt or in the care glove that comes with all bags.
