My favorite mini square in black lambskin and my favorite way to carry it with a small key charm (the extra ring can be used for car key fob), handheld or by shoulder without the need to adjust the strap, although the mini square has the perfect strap length for crossbody. Just like a mini 19 without the chunky chain. Thank you for letting me share.

Hi All! New to this forum and new to Chanel handbags! I have a few questions that have been brewing in my mind and wanted to get some thoughts from the experts! 
1. I'm looking for a mini flap in caviar leather, which I've read has been discontinued. Has anyone's SA given an idea of if/when this would be coming back?
2. The alternative would be to get the mini in lambskin, but I'm a clumsy person so I'm pretty worried about getting lambskin and the upkeep required.
3. Thoughts on mini-flap vs. mini-flap with handle?

1. No there is no word of any caviar bags coming back any time soon. However in the past few collections there have been new releases of different styled mini bags with caviar leather. If you are ok with a different style you can look out for other mini flap bags that may come out. [ex: Perfect mini, melody bag]
2. The experience with lambskin varies a lot. I personally have no issue with my bags being worn out too quick, of course over the years they will show use however it is not always the case. There are some people whose bags worn out on the corners within a few weeks of owning it (even from people who say they baby their bags). Some argue that vintage leather is better than the current lambskin leather in terms of durability and some even say the more recent lambskin is sturdier than the past years (I've seen this mentioned before for lambskin minis released in 2021-2022).
It's hard to pinpoint which lambskin is more durable for the recent collections because there are so many different experiences so I would say if you are not okay with the possibility of the lambskin getting damaged, I suggest you to probably skip out on it and seek the caviar mini on the pre-loved market. Of course it might not happen as there are people who have had nothing but good experiences with the leather, but know that there is a chance of it happening.
Another option besides pre-loved for the caviar is possibly waiting for a mini in goatskin leather. If not maybe look into the small classic flap since there is caviar leather for that. The amount of stuff the mini can hold compared to the small CF is not a very big difference so that can be a great option as well but the price difference is a lot.

I prefer the mini flap without the top handle because I rarely carry bags in general with my hand. I prefer to wear it on my body as crossbody or on the shoulder so I really have no purpose for it. I also prefer the chain coming out of the grommets versus being attached to the top of the bag like on the top handle. It allows for me to shorten the chain to wear it differently whereas the top handle one it is more difficult to achieve a shorter strap.
I can see why the top handle is great though. I think the top handle gives it an extra way to wear the bag and I think it looks really cute when people wrap the handle with a twilly.

I was looking into the small and the biggest difference for me is the chain length. I really want to wear the bag crossbody and the small chain seems too short for where I usually wear my bags (below hip).
And totally agree - the top handles looks amazing with the Twilly! But if it's difficult to adjust the strap, it won't work for me.

Hi everyone! I’m planning on buying my first Chanel bag - a black rectangular mini and possibly a cardholder. I’ll be in Las Vegas in a couple weeks and plan on visiting the Chanel locations there as there isn’t a stand alone Chanel where I live. From other threads in this forum, I’ve read about how hard it is to find this particular bag and the waitlists. In another thread someone mentioned they got on a waitlist a few weeks ago for a black mini. Are waitlists only for people who have purchase history with Chanel? Also, I’d love to hear your experiences and any advice he about which Las Vegas Chanel boutiques to visit first in terms of where people have gotten lucky in finding what they wanted, customer service experience, etc. thanks in advance!

I agree as well, the small CF chain is too short to be worn below the hip. That is also why I settled for the lambskin minis since it doesn't seem like Chanel wants to bring back the caviar leather
. I am also very clumsy but I try to baby my bags as much as possible without going too crazy. I definitely think the lambskin is very beautiful and feels luxurious so I definitely recommend it.

Thank you. Pleasure to share. First I adjust the chain on top to make desirable length for hand carry (see pic 1), then use the key chain hook get through the leather chain of the strap on the side (see pict 2 and 3). The remaining chain can be put inside the bag for handcarry only, or wrap to make a longer loop to dangle underneath (see pic 4) or up for shoulder carry (see pic 5).Nicely done. I'm interested on what did you do this on the strap. Please share.
Because it's lambskin, the woven leather chain has sufficient room for the chain hook. Even the chunky one like what I used fit in very smoothly. To avoid rubbing on the lambskin, I just use a round and smooth one and make sure the key chain does not have sharp parts to damage the bag. I am not a big fan of bag charms and this maybe just occasional look for fun like an evening out. Have fun!
