I'm 5'2 and the length is fine for me (I'm also petite). You can take a bag that you already wear and measure the strap drop and compare it. The rectangular mini will either be a 22 or 23 inch strap drop.

Lower than that it look like I walk and drag the bag around .I love mini CCH strap it fit my body frame perfectly . I think I better off getting mini rectangular with gold crush ball . The strap is adjustable. I am hoping it come out with beige or caramel color .
I have a mini rectangular pearl crush and found the strap a bit too long for my liking if it’s on the longest length without adjustment (I’m 5’6” and like the bag to sit on top of my hip bone/ slightly below my waistline). That’s when I wear the bag without a coat though. The length would be just right if I’m wearing a thick down or wool coat.
Congrats on your two minis. I also have both. Just curious on the 22p square mini. Do you mind sharing a pic of the inner flap or kindly let me know whether the screw inside the flap is star screw or flathead screw? All my minis have flathead screw all made in France but this mini square I got from 22p made in Italy has star screw so I am curious. Thanks.
From which season does your grey mini come from?Just to chip in on the bag clip topic: Both mini rect and square are perfect length for me crossbody, but I still bought a pair of clips from Etsy which is surprisingly good. The quality is good (considering the price), smooth surface (not going to scratch anything) and it does not require a mini screw to open and close!

So if anyone is worried about the length of the strap, but finding the common clip too much hassle to use, this is another option
1. Go into stores and build a relationship with a SA - get their contact and ask them to add you on the wish list.
2. Stores that don’t have waiting lists - find out what days they have their new stock coming in and go early morning to those stores such as selfridges - you might get lucky.
3. Be patient

I got in contact with an SA through Harrods personal shopping! Although you do need to already have a Harrods account and they did ask if I had already purchased from chanel Harrods before which I had. Hope that helps
