mollie12 could you at least pass the twitter account of the person?

Are you related to Koukla1073? ;) :D

The twitter thing is probably just a misleading rumour... on the list of recent oscar winners Fassbender is linked to two of them (Cruz and Portman) through recent projects. It's entirely possible they met up for a work thing and it was misconstrued as something else.

Since Berry, Cruz and Portman are recently pregnant or have recently given birth I don't see how it would be a real possibility.

Weinstein Company Lands ‘Macbeth’ With Michael Fassbender And Marion Cotillard

http://www.deadline.com/2013/10/wei...illard/#utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
EXCLUSIVE: The Weinstein Company is nearing a deal to distribute a new version of Shakespeare’s Macbeth that has Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard starring, This is the one being directed by Snowtown helmer Justin Kurzel, from a script by Jacob Koskoff Todd Louiso that features the original Shakespearean dialogue, but doing an ambitious job of visually framing Macbeth’s plight, as his ambitious wife coaxes him into taking underhanded means to grab power from the reigning king Duncan. The film’s produced by Iain Canning and Emile Sherman of See-Saw Films. TWC and Fox Searchlight have been sparring over the picture in the last month or so.

This puts Fassbender in the hands of Harvey Weinstein and despite what the actor said in GQ about not wanting to participate in the Oscar proceedings, Weinstein can certainly be persuasive in making stars of his movies see the benefit in at least trying to play the game. When an actor makes public comments like the ones Fassbender did, the danger is that it can come off as indifference or disdain to Oscar voters and the process. That puts the focus squarely on performance, which of course is where it should be anyway, but we all know life doesn’t work out that way. In this case, Fassbender’s work in 12 Years A Slave is so overpowering it might not matter. It certainly didn’t stop Joaquin Phoenix from getting a Best Actor nomination for his towering performance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master even after the actor went public for his aversion to the whole Oscar dog and pony show. This Oscar campaign season already promises to be most competitive, and distributors will take any advantage they can get. That was evident when the Academy had a party to welcome new members in New York, and side parties were thrown for 12 Years A Slave, Nebraska and Walter Mitty. Oscar voters can’t hide, and even a playful conversation can get blown out of proportion. Meryl Streep sometimes doesn’t campaign for movies, but when she did stump for The Iron Lady, she won the Oscar and her playful demeanor showed a sense of humor that surprised some people. That doesn’t include when she took the stage to accept the prizes and acted like she has never been there before, or ever expected she might win. She almost always wins!

Ugh Harvey. So if this turns out well Michael will be forced to campaign next season and Marion will have to wear a Marchesa dress.

I think so too. It'll be tit for tat. They did their magic for Inglorious Bastards so I guess it's time to pay up.

I think that Marion has an ironclad contract with Dior so you probably won't see her in Marchesa. Quelle dommage! :D

Gossip from ONTD:

http://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/82486774.html?thread=14545252598&#t14545252598

My friend slept with him lolol

Haha she has tan skin and looks really Italian (I don't think she is though). We don't really talk anymore but her brother works in the biz and she gets invited to all these parties. I mean she could have lied to me but she had a picture with him on her phone and she's not the type to lie. She didn't know who he was until after.

Q: Please tell me she said he was a great ****?

Haha she did say he was! Funny thing is she has been with the same guy for 5 years and they broke up right before she had sex with Fassbender and she said it was lifechanging.

I think that I might be missing something. In the GQ interview, he said that he is not going to campaign, not that he is not going to the oscar if he is nominated. How come it went from him not campaigning to him not going to show up at the oscar.
I also hate that some gossip site , like lainey, practically implied that he is selfish and not a team player for not wanting to campaign. Wouldn't it be worst if he spends all his time campaigning instead of respecting his previous engagements. I mean some of those movie probably got financed because of him.
Also, there is always a backlash for actors who campaign too much. Plus, he is doing a lots of promotion which is more than some actors would do. Ex: George Clooney does a lots of campaigning, but he doesn't spend much time promoting his movie.

Yes people have taken what he's said about not campaigning and made it into something it's not. It's the same people who always tend to take what he's said and turn it into whatever they want it to be. You'd have to be a moron to think he'd skip the Oscars if nominated, and Lainey is pretty much a moron. If he's nominated he'll def show up he's just not going to campaign like he did with Shame.

I give Harvey credit for what he does but he's such a boorish man. And Marion is lucky to have Dior.

Saying he's a difficult actor sounds better than saying he's working and not available to campaign. Anyone who read the article would know he never said he's skipping the Oscars.

True. People want to believe what they want to, I guess. That's gossip. I think that he might be a lots of thing, but being a difficult actor is probably not one of them (according to people who works with him). Plus, very friendly according to some people who met him in Montreal this summer.

If Weinstein getting behind it Fassbender may have no choice but to campaign.

The Oscar campaigning is the lamest thing ever, judging from the yearly oscar roundtable interviews the awards seem to matter more to the studio executives than to anyone else.

Exclusive First Listen: 4 Tracks From 'The Counselor' Score Plus Michael Fassbender Buys Lingerie In Viral Footage

... Well call me weird but ... that was a bit painful cringy to watch, coming from two talented actors :hrmm:

It felt like watching a weird p0rn haha! They didn't really have chemistry so the lines seemed forced, out of place... It's painful listening to him trying to hide his accent.

OMG, thank g*d I'm not the only one, I thought I was being too negative. The dialogue is also pretty painful.

I think some of it is also down to the quality of the light (presumably it was shot on digital)... it makes it look like some kind of weird corporate instruction video for a porn company.
