Michael will be on the “Late Show with David Letterman” on CBS Wednesday, January 18th :ghi5:
I was kinda hoping he could also show up on Ferguson, Conan and Jon Stewart's couches but for a 1st talk show appearance it's a wise choice. (Dave will rip him in half though )

Love this interview with In Touch. Those girls ask the most inane questions and I'm glad he answered all of them.

So he likes a woman with a healthy appetite. That reminds me of Eddie Murphy's Raw. When he mentioned that he hated women that just had salads and water on a date.

Grab a drink. Here's Lainey:

Michael Fassbender collected the Spotlight Award last night at the NBR. Well it’s about time. I feel like Fassy’s lost a little momentum. You’ll recall, he was not nominated for a SAG. And with the race so tight this year, even though he deserves to be included, I don’t know that he’ll make it to the final five when Jennifer Lawrence calls out the names on January 24th. It’s certainly not a lock. Especially when he hasn’t been out there, working and hustling like the Clooneys and the Pitts and, yes, even the Oldmans. Oldman was definitely campaigning last week in LA and Palm Springs. Rather diligently, in fact.

If you’re a Fassy fangirl, you’re probably all like - yeah, well, my boy doesn’t need to suck dick for an award, he’s all about the art!

Well…

You remember when he bailed out on the A Dangerous Method premiere at TIFF because he wanted to go back to Venice to pick up his Best Actor Award, right? That was a poorly played campaign move, but it was a campaign move all the same. As for why Fassy hasn’t been present on the campaign circuit so much as the others, I suspect it has something to do with cash money. There just isn’t enough of it for him to be able to compete on the same scale with the others.

There you go, Fassy fans. He’s the 99%.

We’ll see more of Fassbender later this week. He’s expected at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday.

Lainey is snarky, bitc*y, judgy, obviously favors some while blasts others but she's right about certain things - money and handling of events.

TIFF appearance should have been handled better by Michael's or studio's team. But I honestly doubt some journalist or film critic will have their panties in the twist because Michael was no-show at the premiere. Seriously, like Keira and Viggo are some C and D list stars and ADM needed Michael to sell well.

Let's not forget that Shame and The Descendants share the same studio and I'm guessing executives decided it would be more efficient to put all money on one horse aka The Descendants. From exec's POV, it's better to push Clooney because he's better known, has loads of HW connections, movie he is in is the type of movie Academy members love. Fox Searchlight is still pushing Michael but maybe not to that extent as Clooney because screenings of Shame went bad. To be exact - people hated it.

To get Oscar nom, an actor/actress has to work the circuit - press, critics and Academy members. Unless it's a really bad year and one has exceptional performance hence obvious lock from the start. Those who claim that they won't or don't do it, well they're lying. Look at Natalie Portman last year - she did every single thing to get that Oscar - pretty much like Clooney and Pitt this year.

It was the 1st time they've actually met [on a red carpet & in front of cameras] and she's as shy as it gets hence the awkward vibe. Few days before, in Palm Spring FF red carpet she came across Gary Oldman during an interview, she told him she was a big fan, he told her he was an admirer of her work too, they were both too shy to meet each other before... When he left she was in tears it was so adorable.

Ahhhh, bless her! I guess she just got overwhelmed by the Fass charm. It happened to me too. :shame:

I really hope Fassy and Jessica will end up in a film together. Steve McQueen make it happen, man!!

He's starting to become too good to be true with all these answers about overweight women being his usual type... I mean c'mon he has only dated skinny or porn looking women in the past [eating salads like there's no tomorrow] I doubt he would get it on with Melissa McCarthy anytime soon even if he says so. Polite answer for a noisy question TBQH, like he did about Chelsea Handler (he's watching her show my a$$).

But that's a lot of interesting questions answered in only 2 minutes, good job girls

The Toronto ladies really can't seem to let that one go, no? They've been harping about that for awhile now. I really don't see a big deal about a last-minute change especially when there are 2 other leads (who are the first and second billed actors!) to represent Cronenberg's movie ... while Fassbender's basically the poster boy for Shame. Maybe going to Venice was also at the behest of the studio's suggestion? Anyway, I find it weird that any post about him harks back to that "blunder", you'd think he violated Royal protocol and touched Her Majesty...

Oh, and Artica, how funny, I read the Calamity portion of the intv re: kissing before filming, as her and DeeDee practice-making out! (maybe it's because I recall lots of girl on girl kissing in the threesome). I could also be totally wrong, it's not really specified, and reads pretty ambiguously

Oops, perhaps I need to get my mind out of the gutter. Could have sworn that Michael was joining them.

This may be an inane question, but does anyone know what happens if a male actor gets a little too much into character during erotic scenes? It's not like you can ignore or hide it if you're shooting scenes like the ones in Shame.

Indeed. I guess he likes women with the same metabolism as he has. Women who can eat like a horse and not put on any weight. Unfortunately those women are very rare. Most woman are on 1000 or 600 calorie diets for a hell of a lot longer than he ever was and nobody is giving them any awards for it. ;)

Since when is adopting a cocker spaniel and telling People magazine about it (and posing for a photo with said dog) pandering? I mean really... ;)

I think Brad and George are aging out of being Brad! and George! and there is some sympathy in Hollywood over their decline and that will work against Fassbender who clearly has many good years in front of him. Also, a lot of the awards seem to not be given on the basis of the performances in question but rather for lifetime achievement, the voters feeling of "isn't about time we gave you one of these?", general balance in the balloting (old vs young, type of project) and general familiarity. And pandering is helpful, I think Colin Firth campaigned pretty hard last year to get his win. He should have won the year before for "A Single Man" and perhaps he thought he'd better get out thesre and win some people over.

And while people like MF's performance a lot, there isn't a lot of love for the movie itself among the various bodies giving out awards, at least not so far (am expecting the BAFTAs will be better). None of these things are going to help MF win. On merit alone I think he should win but HW is not a meritocracy, unfortunately.

OMG that story about adopting a dog is really cheap. Poor George is getting desperate. :p

Good point! Same thing with Ryan Gosling IMO.

Colin Firth did campaign for his Oscar, like every other nominee, but ever since The Kings Speech had premiered at TIFF, he was considered as a very serious contender right from the start. He carried that momentum till the end and won. This year race has been very tight and little things will decide. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Michael but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he doesn't get a nom.

Chelsea Handler on Conan O'Brien show last night casually talking about Michael

“You know, Michael Fassbender? That hot guy? I’d go for him.”

 Right? Like you stand a chance you cheap old trash, please go back to your pimp [50 Cent] and shut the hell up for awhile.

http://teamcoco.com/video/conan#video=22777 (If you wanna have a good laugh check this out:roflmfao:)

That's exactly what I was thinking. I can not stand that woman. At all. Bish, please.

She's "supposed" to be 36
Either she’s doing some creative accounting with her age, or she spent her 20′s only doing speed and coke. If you told me she was 50, I’d say: “meh, she looks pretty decent for her age.”

That bish needs to STFU! I'll bet she's never even seen any of his films. She's just trying to jump on the bandwagon to keep herself relevant.

Now having said that, she was pretty hilarious when she made an arse out of Jordan/Katie Price.

Ladies I share your sentiments about Handler. I'm hoping she goes away in a year or so.

He gets a lawsuit on his a$$ ASAP that's what

These 2 women weren't really attractive IMO but still I was wondering if the threesome scene at the end of the film was entirely faked and if not how could you even fake a scene like this one to begin with [70's porn films would probably look faked next to this one] ? :hnsnsn:
