I managed to watch 9 episodes of Band of Brothers yesterday. Michael's role is not very big, but he was pretty good in it and he looked gorgeous in his 20s.

I wonder when his acne cleared up and how it affected his self-confidence.

Interesting new tidbits discussed on twitter:

“@BBCWorld: Fassbender wins LA Critics prize http://bbc.in/syuhtq” he used to go our with my sis claimtofame

@jenoconnell Edel!!! He went to school with her used to serenade her with his guitar playing and hitch home to Killarney!!

@jenoconnell haha he had long hair and acne but soundest guy very grungy!!

That is hilarious!

I finally had my picture taken with the Fassmeister. Still can't believe my luck. Jeez, what a random day it's been.

This week there are quite a few free screenings of lots of films including Shame. I only managed to get tix for yesterday's screening of The Artist. Coincidently I found out in the morning that there were also some return tickets for the Shame preview organised by the Guardian.

So I cancelled the Artist and changed to Shame, which I kinda regretted instantly, because I really want to see the Artist and I've seen Shame a few times already.

Then around 15.30 I found out that the Tate Modern had also organised a screening of Shame + Q&A with McQueen for Tate members only (my membership expires in 2 weeks). They announced that the screening was completely sold out, but I still tried to make a booking and voila! I succeeded.

So I bailed on the Guardian and went to the museum instead, where I picked a great spot near the stage- I wanted to ask McQueen a question- and I watched the film again. As soon as the end credits started, I looked up at the stairs and not only did I see McQueen, but also someone that looked a bit like Michael. I frantically tried to find my camera in my bag to film the Q&A, and as the lights went on Steve and Michael walked down the stairs. Unfortunately I was so close to the stage, that there was no way I could hide the camera, so I stopped filming after a few secs.

The Q&A session was brilliant. Lots of good questions by the host as well as the audience. McQueen did most of the talking. He was great. What an inspiration!! Michael wasn't actually supposed to be there, so it was pretty cool that he showed up.

After the Q&A finished we all left the auditorium and I walked right behind McQueen towards the loos. Afterwards I went towards the exit, but I could see that McQueen and Fassbender were both still talking to people. Michael was signing things and posing for pix. That's when I grabbed my crappy camera and walked towards him. I asked a guy (I think he was with the film company) if he could take a picture of me and Fassy. He didn't really want to but I gave him big puppy eyes. I then asked Michael if I could have my picture taken with him, he said 'sure' and that was that. He was really nice: he gave me a big shark smile and shook my hand. I then casually walked out and jumped for joy outside of the Tate. I'll post the end result during the day. The quality is pretty bad, but I'm happy with it.

Congrats!
Did he smell nice?

;)

Many thanks! I need to fix that gif and I'll re-post it.

Here's some useless info:

He didn't stink of cigarettes at all, but I didn't smell cologne either.
His teeth are a bit yellow/grey and his hand was very soft.
His head is larger than I remembered from before, but maybe that's because his face was quite close to mine. **schwing**
He also looks very pale at the moment. Man needs a rest and a tan.
Oh and he is def at least 1.80m. I was wearing flats and he was still at least 10 cm taller than me.

Nothing stopping you now BB, just make him give up smoking. ;)

Congrats! How cool :)

And the SAGs name are tres lame. What a snub. Count on them to try and veer off and shock everyone...

Artica, could I post your pic and story on the blog? Thanks!
