Well I decided to approach the subject of a man bag with the hubby tonight! *G*

Me - Honey, would you ever consider carrying a man bag?
Hubby - gives me the ..Are you insane?...look
Me - Well, you carry a laptop case.
Hubby - I do not carry a laptop case, I just bring it with me on days that I need it.
Me- Well, it would be a great place to put all your stuff, your wallet, phone etc.
Hubby - That's what pockets are for.
Me - Well I know you've said it can be a pain to carry the cell phone around sometimes...
Hubby - And you think it would be easier to carry around a purse?
Me - Well some people think so...
Hubby - *incredulous look*
Me - In Europe they do, and in some places here too....
Hubby - Gives me a disbelieving look....Never going to happen.

End of conversation but I tried! :)

I almost posted these myself ! They have to be the best made on the planet !
LOVE THEM ALL !

OH MY LORD I"M TOTALLY BUYING SOMETHING FROM THERE!!!!!

i LOVE their tagline "they'll fight over it when you're dead"

PS. if i could get my husband to carry his OWN bag then *I* won't get stuck with his wallet and car keys in MY bag!!!

plus it would mean MORE bag shopping . YAY!

:)

Spielberg1 can u tell me the brand of the 1st bag u posted in the #1 post?
thanks

Yes the brand is CAMPOMAGGI.

An Italian company.

I got the satchel in Bloomingdales in this amazing military green!

(I think the company website is on the tag. I can check at home for you. But they don't have an online shop if I remember correctly. It's just an 'Info Only' website I believe)

But i'm trying to hunt down the smaller version of the green bag. :)

I emailed the store (in japan?) that has it but they never wrote back...

If you find out anything about them -- where to buy etc -- please, please let me know!

My DH carries a bag everywhere. He doesn't want the outline of a wallet in his back pocket to ruin the look of his pants/trousers/jeans. And I totally agree, I don't want anything to ruin the view of the finest man ass and longest legs I've ever seen!
He carries messenger-size bags for work when he carries files and his lunch and smaller bags for the rest of the time. Yes, he has a few and I love buying them for him. For his last birthday I got him a TDF leather Tumi small messenger style. He looks yummy carrying it. Maybe I'll ask him to model for me later today so I can take a pic and post it.
He's so funny, he even swiped a beautiful, rather masuline-looking bag I'd been given recently, I was going to use it for a cosmetic bag, but he wanted it so he can put his chapstick, toothbrush and toothpaste in it. I'd better watch out, he'll be swiping my Balenciaga money wallet next!
BTW, thanks Spielberg1, I'm checking out those Campomaggi bags next, those are hot and his birthday is coming up!

My BF carries a Coach messenger bag to work and sometimes on the weekends. It's really classic and masculine, not too fashion-y for him (this is a guy who still wears his ten-year-old Levi's if I don't watch him, lol). He thinks it's really good quality for the price he paid ($150 at the outlet). I like that he carries it because he has a ton of stuff! Cell phone, Blackberry, money clip, card case with too many cards, keys, packet of tissues, sunglasses and case are his essentials, and when he tries to fit all that in the pockets of his pants and coats it is just comical! I think man-bags are nice because they are convenient, and as long as it fits with the guy's style then it's a good look.

As a guy, I cannot understand how other guys can carry stuff around in their pockets. For me it is sooo uncomfortable, I can't walk around with a wallet, phone or anything (except keys) in my pockets, if I do, I can't sit down lol. Or maybe it's just that I don't generally wear stuff with hundreds of pockets on them *yuck*.

Came across this thread today and thought I would weigh in from one man's perspective.I usually do not post but here I go.
By way of background,I am 53 years old, been married to the same woman for 31 years and have three children..2 young women 23 and 21 and a son 17. I played High School and Division I Football in College.I am an avid sportsman who skiis, deep sea fishes, golfs, hunts wild bird, and am a card carrying member of the NRA,with a pistol permit allowing me to shoot in competitions.I am also a CEO of a $400 million company....and I carrry a whatever you would like to call it.....ManBag.Murse,Bag,or even God forbid...horrors..a "PURSE"!!I believe Spielberg 1 had it right ..it is nothing more than a pouch to hold things, whatever it is called.
It began 3 years ago for several reasons.First my Massage Therapist told me to get my wallet out of my back pocket,so my spine had a better than even chance of staying in alignment.Factor in the technological gadgets that are part of everyday life (cell phone,PDA,iPod,Camera), and items that one needs as a 53 YO...reading glasses, sunglasses to protect one's aging retinas, and a ready supply of Alleve, along with the usual suspects such as wallet, keys, change, etc. and it is an absolute necessity to have all of this neatly contained and available to you .I cannot think of any other way to accomplish this than to carry a Bag.
I routinely use a Balenciaga Weekender for our trips to our 2nd home in Stowe,Vt.and a Balenciaga Men's Day Messenger when I travel by air so as I am able to be hands free. For my daily Bag I use a Mulberry Anthony Messenger(although I am eyeing those Campomaggi Bags) in Black..Chocolate..or Oak depending what I am wearing. My wife has purchased many of my bags(she too is a Balenciaga fan- main reason I joined this forum-to learn enough to get them as gifts for her...and an occasional one for me too ;) !) and is super comfortable with me carrying a Bag.I can not imagine now ever not carrying one...it is so convenient...organized...and neat.
I am sure this will not change anyone's mind...but thought I would give you hope.

Yeah, and my boyfriend always asks me to put his stuff in my purse when we go somewhere. I'm like, "This is why more men should carry a bag!" He's always misplacing his keys and wallet, and if he's not wearing jeans or a jacket with pockets then where the heck is he supposed to put his stuff? Drives me nuts.

Neither can I :nogood: Walking with a cell phone in ANY pocket seems needlessly uncomfortable. So I collect bags to carry my crap in :p
