Men carrying a purse or handbag

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Jack Spade. My boyfriend cringes when I ask him to hold my purse even for a moment (to be fair they're generally pink), but he was surprisingly excited when I got him a black canvas Jack Spade messenger bag (with a matching laptop case inside) for his birthday. They actually do a pretty good job of making functional and stylish yet manly bags for guys.

Despite my efforts my husband insists on wearing a 'banana', both at work and on holiday. I bought him a Prada man bag at Christmas and it's still hanging on the door handle of his study. I really despair of the man, and might steal his bag for myself.

My grandpa carries a man-clutch, but it's pretty damn ugly so it's not at all feminine. He actually loves it- it's great for his cell phone, wallet, pens & paper (the man is ALWAYS taking notes), and sunglasses.

Surely this isn't your grandpa's bag, Valley? It's not ugly at all. In fact I wouldn't mind that myself!

My DH wouldn't be caught dead carrying a man bag either...or as he calls it a "murse". LOL :roflmfao: But I hated the briefcase/laptop case he used to carry because it was just some cheap nylon/polyester blend thing that had seen better days. So for his bday I got him this awesome leather briefcase and since then, he has not stopped carrying it. It holds his laptop, files and his personal items but the briefcase can convert to a backpack and it is the most durable thing I have ever seen. The leather also smells sooo yummy! I have no affiliation with this company but I love to tell everyone about them because their customer service is unmatched and they are just the nicest family to ever deal with. The website is also a hoot to read. Some believers send in photos of their adventures with their bags and it's cool to see who buys them and where/for what they use them for. Check it out:

No he doesn't carry a bag, but he would dare to if he liked the idea. But for now he just stuffs everything in his pockets or in my purse! And I'm fine with that, I don't really know what I think about a man's purse.. Can look good on some guys.

lol! I obviously carry everything in my collection thread, and I'm a guy...

and my bf carries a Coach Messenger bag... we are all bag lovers at my house!

and I don't call it a murse, man bag, or anything like that... I simply call them my bags..

OR Mikey for Michael Kors

and Louis for Louis Vuitton

and Dooney... for DB!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think all guys should carry 'bags' -- there are so many cool ones out there!

(if girls couldn't wear jeans -- only boys -- i would start a new trend right now! so why should boys miss out on that great and wonderful invention the bag? i'm sure back in the old days men carried them!)

so question -- from a guy's POV -- do YOU like the campomaggis i was trying to force on my husband (first post) -- or do you think they are too pocketbooky?

:)

only to and from work. He was carrying a little messenger type bag from Target, but I bought him a chocolate brown Jack Spade canvas messenger to use instead. The Target one just wasn't dressy enough for work.

LeSportsac now, for some reason, has a line geared toward man/boys. I wonder if I can get my BF to trade in his POC backpack for a newer, cleaner, less raggedy model? Maybe their ridge backpack. I know he wouldn't carry anything other than a backpack-type bag. If it has straps, handles, and stuff it's out of the question (I guess that does get to be too girl-purse like).

I don't think so at all! I think they are masculine!

Okay, so my bf is constantly on my case about spending "ridiculous amounts of $$$$$" on bags and I've tried and tried to get him to use a nice messenger bag instead of his POCKETS to put all his stuff in... he's like a stubborn mule! The closest thing to a manbag or murse he will use is a LV Utah wallet I got him. He sure as hell didn't mind that it cost me $500+ for it! Or maybe it's because I pestered him about using it...
