towards the end what he said about his dad  - the Old Spice guy
That was so interesting, I also did not realize his mother was the press secretary for the first Prime Minister Trudeau. I actually had forgotten that he was Canadian until I heard the interview again. I heard that Justin Trudeau made a statement when Matthew Perry died, but I just assumed that they were school friends, but they must have known each other from his mother’s professional career as well.

I read (well, listened since that’s my preference for autobiographies) his book last year and he gets into this stage of his life.

Addicts will do anything to get what they need. I've been around too many to count, including my own late mother. Looking back, I cannot judge her wholly based on some of her bad decisions while she was unwell.

It's amazing that he was honest about it.
It's reported he made 6k trips to AA, had at least 12 surgeries; he spent decades trying to get sober, which had proven costly for the actor. In his memoir, he wrote that he had spent more than $7 million on his journey to sobriety, including going to rehab 15 times.
I'm so sorry you went through that with your late mother

I know all the stars are coming out now and saying how wonderful he was, but honestly, he didn’t seem that kind in the book he wrote. He sounded super jealous of whenever anyone else got laughs on Friends, and talked about doing such low things like having his realtor take him to homes for sale in LA just for the purpose of him rifling through their medicine cabinets for drugs. I mean sure it’s sad, but he was no angel.
He also made unnecessary nasty comments about innocent people ( like his awful comment regarding keaneau reeves.) I do find it odd that it's suddenly all white washed now that he passed away.
His ex mentioned that he hurt her terribly when they were together.
Frankly he seems like he was a mess for years and just because he was a popular actor shouldn't get a pass .

True, but that is always the way when a famous person dies young or tragically. Fans never knew Matthew but they loved Chandler. His work represents who he was to most.

and I think when someone passes it's better to remember the good things about them. He wasn't a perfect person but he wasn't evil IMO
His family and friends don't need to be reminded of his flaws on the Internet
