This collaboration brought me back to TPF..... been a while since I was ever so excited about a new launch. I am neutral to differing preference and there is nothing wrong with "I dun like it" but some of the posts seemed to suggest that this collaboration/design have offended them. I can only count my blessings that my social circle irl is very accommodating towards my unusual taste in bags. This is afterall a forum with mostly strangers that we will never meet.

I am still undecided: Van Gogh or Rubens? Also, titan is growing on me...

LV hasn't done anything to make me feel so excited for a long long time. This collaboration brings me back to TPF too !

I am very happy to see people voice out how they love or hate this collaboration, these are honest opinion. I love the Van Gogh collection regardless !

Hi @chinchin_lim , long time!!!!!! Hope all is well.

I can't agree more with what you said there haha. I wonder why.

I was drawn to Van Gogh's colors first but I thought that I would like Rubens more as it's more striking.

I am great... probably more mellow when comes to bags... lol... I am stalking you on IS. U always make me laugh.

I felt the same way with Van Gogh and rubens too. There are moments when I want something soft and soothing and moments I want it bold.

Me too!!!!
Ditto. Ever since I saw the collection, I have always been drawn to the"art" part itself and everything else became a blur. First it was the Mona Lisa. Then the more I look at the Rubens, I find it more striking every time. Then when I saw the Van Gogh with Michelle Williams I am loving it. The color was more muted than how it shows online at LV. I wish the prices were friendlier.

I believe that with us all talking about this collection is what Koons really wanted. Be it that you love or hate it, he has put the spotlight and brought attention back to the classics. To look back at some of the great influencers of our society is refreshing. This made me google these masters and look at their artworks.

I think It's definitely one of those kitsch looking bag thats is either going to make the right person look uber stylish or if it was me look uber stupid, like I was pretending too hard to be something I'm not. It would make me feel uncomfortable. I would not have the confidence. Because I would feel people would stare at me thinking I'm desperate or something. So I guess for someone with the right type of personality and style. They will rock this bag especially the Mona Lisa one, fair play on koons if he is making good ole mona chic. Theres a lot more worse mug shots he could have chosen like the queen!! (The British one that is)

Those bags made me think it was April 1st. :whut:
Never heard of Koons and I can see why if slapping shiny text on other's work is his "thing".

I think I would like them minus Koons part. LV could have called me to put some text on them.

We all know that there has been quality issues from the manufacturing process with many bags from LV. I wonder how the letters are attached to the bags and how they will hold up. I can't see them being glued because then they would most likely fall off. And will they tarnish and scratch easily like most of LV hardware that people still complain about. If the letters are somehow screwed from the inside of the bag to the outside when items put inside the bag make it heavy could the stress of the weight cause a problem on these letters. And if a customer bought this bag they would also want to make sure the letters are completely straight across.

I could see customers having many issues if their quality control did not check everything on these bags before they are sold. For those who buy these bags I do think they will need to be extra careful with them and I guess they were made as a statement piece versus daily use. Imagine juts getting one scrape on this bag and then the whole bag will be ruined.

I'm personally not a huge fan of this whatsoever. Something about taking art masterpieces, slapping logos all over them, hanging a rabbit charm on the works, and then having the balls to declare that this was a "collaboration" really gets under my skin like a tattoo...and this isn't just applicable to LV, but any company. Come on LV, you have such a proud history and so many talented artisans both out there and in your company so there's no excuse not to create original art that's beautiful and a masterpiece in its own right:tdown:

Initially I also thought that this collection is hilarious, but looking longer at it, I kind of like the humour behind the collection. Which is the reason I also think that without the tacky metal letters, it would really tacky. It is the whole package with the art paintings and the lettering, which make those pieces kind of a fashion statement. Somehow mocking it itself.
If they would not be so expensive, I think I would totally rock one of the clutches. The larger pieces are a bit to busy with the prints for my taste. But a small piece could be fun and a good conversation starter! [emoji6]
