I am heartbroken for Marco and will miss his bags so much. MM was my first bespoke experience, and I have accumulated so many bags that I love. I had to leave a job I loved for health reasons awhile back, and it is so hard. I really feel for him. He developed a small but mighty following of his craftsmanship over the years.

A sad day for all of us. I just placed my final order for a Little Miss M. I've got a decent collection of MM bags right now and I was actually thinking of posting a couple for sale but now, I think I'll hang on to them!
FYI, I just received my order for Valentine's Day. This is probably the longest I've waited for a bag but I guess Marco's health issues were impacting production. He indicated the Last Sale orders would be delivered by September, but that may be optimistic...

The way I understood the email was that September is the goal for completion of orders placed before his email was sent. Any orders after that will be done by the end of the year because that’s when production will cease.
i think most of my bags are made by Marco, as I was a big BE collector. I stepped away from TPF to do some other things in life and as soon as i came back i wanted a new bag from his collection. I am really sad he has health problems and is closing as his bags are true quality. You should see how my BEs have held up - they will last a lifetime and i love that they aren't discreet luxury.

You pay in full when you place the order.
I think it’s reasonable to pay upfront. His bags are bespoke, very high quality, and cheaper than many contemporary brands.
Unfortunately, I think his delivery window (which now it’s more clear is related to his health) has been a significant issue. I waited 5 months for my last order. And, I don’t know that most people are willing to wait that long especially when they’ve prepaid.
The lead time he put in his email when I placed my order yesterday was 12 weeks (aka 3 months), which I consider reasonable. But then I placed my order quickly so I'm at the front of the Last Sale queue. I can see it extending to 4-5 months if orders pour in over the next two weeks.
Ah, the perennial problem with MM bags: Too many choices! Not sure if you are aware @pinkdiamond , but there is a very active Facebook Buy-Sell-Trade group dedicated to MM bags, so you're not completely out of luck. Hopefully, that BST will keep thriving once he has shuttered the business.

Marco has a very small shop. I think it is just Marco and two other employees. His primary craftsman was sick last year and that slowed things down. I also know that Marco ran into longer-than-usual wait times for hardware and other supplies since the pandemic, and leather orders from the tanneries now take significantly longer than they used to. I ordered a bag in a specific leather that he sourced from the tannery for me (a new run of the old sauro tan vacchetta), and it took some time for him to receive the leather.
But, yes, the wait time has really increased over the past 12-18 months. I think it was the result of many things that caused the delay. I've also noticed more large errors over the last year, which is unfortunate as well.
I honestly think Marco's business model was pretty great for being such a small shop. I especially appreciate that I got to design and customize bags with the designer himself. I also ordered enough bags over the years that Marco learned my style and tastes and recommended combinations to me based on my initial ideas that I loved. That kind of customer service is very rare and special.

We farm and I don't get out much : ) , so I've told Marco more than once to put my bags at the back of the queue, which I will also do for my last order. I'm just grateful to be able to get custom bags of such workmanship for this price, especially when I dithered over ordering through his 2018 closure and thought I had permanently lost my chance at a MM bag.
I'm heartbroken. I've written here before about what MM has meant to me over the past seven years. I'm thinking about my final order, but first I have to sit with the sadness.

So far I've ordered a Charlotte Satchel in Barbie Diamond Laminato and a Penelope Midi in Persian Green.
Also thinking about an Astra Satchel, have always wanted to try that style, just not sure what leather.
