I'd be pissed if I was given that ring... but hey, to each their own.
I think it's a beautiful ring and suits her perfectly. Neither one of them are gaudy or flashy, but they do have real substance and their love and life is way more important that a large stone in a ring. They remind me a bit of the Gates and that is a good thing as far as I am concerned.
eta high quality rubies and emeralds are many times more valuable than diamonds and much more rare
It always amuses me when people assume that it takes someone to be "smart" to go to medical school. Actually, most of the time, it just takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice. As we say in med school, it takes 80% perseverance and 20% intelligence.
I'm not in medical school, but I work in research, so I work with a lot of people who are applying/transiting to medical school. I could not agree with your statement more.
I'm not saying Priscilla Chan is not smart! I'm just agreeing with the statement that you don't have to be smart to get into medical school.
I work at UCSF and many (not all) doctors (interns, residents, fellows) do not necessarily equate to intelligence, or even common sense at some instances.
Am I the only one who doesn't have a problem wit' her ring????.... not everyone wants a giant glacier on their fingers....
