I bought bucket MO bag (your first picture) at TJMaxx 4 years ago and paid $129.
It was in white/black colors and got scratched all over pretty fast (but I used it as a diaper bag and hmm.. didn't care well of it).

I picked up this one in black at TJ Maxx but never heard of Marino Orlandi, and can only find him on eBay...help, anyone!
Hey katlun, this picture is actually from one of our eBay listings, Marino Orlandi makes great quality products. They are a bit of an "underground" secret right now but I suspect that the company will become a lot more popular in the US market within the next year or so because they're already well known in Europe.

We became their official distributor because I've had a few of their purses over the last 3-4 years and the quality still amazes me. So needless to say I really recommend them. If you're curious about their products overall, feel free to check out our store (http://www.evelana.com), we import them directly from Marino Orlandi in Italy. I even told them to transport the purses inside the original cardboard packaging (as opposed to taking them out of the box for cheaper transportation as many other companies do). :smile1:

I love Marino Orlandi. So seldom seen here, except occasionally at TJMaxx.
One funny thing, is I can recognize them a mile away. Very unique bags. I was in a theatre parking lot and saw a woman across the lot carrying one a few weeks ago and was so excited to see it that I hollered out, "Marino Orlandi! fabulous!" She was at first a bit shocked, but managed to laugh back at me when it had sunk in that I was excited to see her bag.
And recently I was taking my eyeglasses in for the tightening of a loose screw and the receptionist just went on and on about one of my Marino Orlandi deep brown huge sling bags. I have a few MO's and the leather just lasts and lasts. I have had some fading of the gold on a couple of bags, and some wear like iron and are still great.

I have had several of the Marino Orlandi bags, all purchased at TJMaxx and I am absolutly in love with them. Marino Orlandi is an Italian company and they do have a website. These bags become more beautiful over time as they of such great quality and craftmanship. I'm looking for one in white leather for summer use. When you can afford to buy one, get it as you will never regret it.:yahoo:

I dont quite understand the exact 2 ways it can be worn tho lol, I usually just carry it wierdly haha

The strap is removable, usually, and can run through the top two rings and worn as a shoulder or messenger bag. Or it can be run through the top two rings and the side ring and worn as a shoulder bag if held by that part of the strap--it is a shorter drop that way. And the two top rings can be pulled together and it can be worn as a sling (more ergo, or hanging sort of like the ameribag style) with the weight distributed between the lower ring on the bags side and the top two rings together. Does that all make any sense?

Marino Orlandi bags are wonderful quality, and I love them and although they are fairly rare, it is fun to run into someone carrying one...can pick out a MO from a mile away!

Hello All,
I'm glad that I found this thread. I don't know anybody else who owns a Marino Orlandi handbag except myself. I also purchased all three of my MOs from TJMaxx. My first one was a black tote and used it for years as I commuted to work -bought for $149 in 2002. My second was a green messenger and my most recent purchase is a black quilted bucket style (this is my favorite - paid $249. I'll post pics next time. All the bags were regular price of over $400. I expect to purchase more MOs as they are such great handbags.

I hope that someone can help me in finding a reputable repair shop for my tote bag. The stuffing has separated in one of the handles and leaves a gapping space in the leather. This bothers me which is the reason I stopped using it as my commuter bag. Any advice on how to get this repaired. I don't just want to go to any leather repair shop since it is an expensive designer piece.
Thanks,
KI

Hi Purse143, Welcome to TPF!
I know exactly the black tote you are talking about. I gave my sister that one for her work and she still uses it. I also gave her a small black matching handbag with a MO D ring on top which was about about 8X8 inches and 6 inches deep. Very unusual bag, but I knew she would love it, and she did. It also had a detachable long strap to wear it on the shoulder or across body. Those are the only bags she has carried every since I gave them to her. I have too many bags and change mine every day or two. Still love the few MO bags I have, too.
Have you taken your bag to a leather repair shop (sometimes it takes going to a few in town to see which one has the most experience with your needs) to see what they would suggest? They may be able to steer you in the right direction if they can't handle the repair.

When you buy a bag or anything else for that matter at TJMax...look at the price tag.
there are codes that tell you if the item is a "second"...which is not necessary bad, items that are "seconds" to the maker...the manufacture standards ..can often be perfectly fine for the consumer. Manufactures often have standards that are higher ....than most of us are aware of.
On the tag...there is a "type" number...if the number is "6" it is a second..per the maker.
again, the decrepancies may not be visible to the consumer.
Wow. That makes perfect sense, but I've never heard that before. It's good to know. Thanks for sharing that

I just came back from Italy with 28 MO bags. They were sold to the stores in 24 hours . I am not an exclusive diastributor as some here claim( they don't have an exclusive as far as they told me). TJ max bags are last year or older models and the euro was lover at that time, so that's why the prices are low. Average MO bag goes for $ 350-400 at a distributor side. I import other bags, but MO is the best so far by quality and by design.

I have 3 MO bags, all purchased at TJ Maxx. I have had them for several years. The bags are made very well and the leather is amazing for the price. The only thing I don't like is that the gold does eventually wear off of the hardware. If they could find a way to fix that, I would certainly buy more MO bags. They are very unique, and as I said, made very well.
