Thithi, I got all the classics I was missing like Wuthering Heights, Crime and Punishment, Sense & Sensibility, Les Miserables...those kinds.

They had some other ones too but really weird odds and ends. I may try another Borders tomorrow just to case the joint.

Lugging them through the mall gave me huge bulging muscles though. I'm pretty impressed with myself.

Hi Bom!

PM, ME TOO. I don't even think twice about walking into a bookstore and dropping a mint. I just really, really love books and my friends think I'm such a dork ha! My dream is to have a house with my own library. Le sigh!

I think the sale is going on until inventory is out. The sales girl said something about "at the beginning of the sale..." so I'm assuming they're winding down but I am sure tomorrow you'll still be able to catch it. Let me know what you wind up snatching up.

Update: Just got off the phone with the freestanding Borders and they are saying their stuff is only 50% off?

Maybe it's different because the one I went to was a Borders Express in the mall?

Either way, Borders is having a sale whether it's 50% or 90%!

Im going to start reading "She's come undone" by wally lamb. Anyone read that one yet?

I have. Some of my friends just loved it while I thought it was just okay. I just bought his latest, though. The Hour I First Believed.

Jane Austen is one of my FAVES, Thithi! I haven't read her in awhile. I used to read three novels a week but I've slowed down since finding TPF:rolleyes:

Oh man! That's a heck of a deal! I started collecting the classics several years ago from Barnes and Noble. The hardcovers were just a few bucks.

I love the classics. It always amazes me how messed up these "proper" ladies and gentlemen could be!

I also heard a lot of mixed reviews about She's Come Undone but have not read it myself.

What's your favorite Austen novel, girls? I still think mine is Pride and Prejudice but I have yet to read Persuasion and a lot of people hold that one up prettttty high.

i started reading she's come undone but never finished it... it seemed similar to lovely bones, which i didn't like either. i did read his first one about the twins, and that that was just ok as well. i'm going to pass on his newest book. i'm a hater, i know.

pm, i've never read any austin books, but i saw a bunch of movies like becoming jane, etc and it got me really interested... hopefully i can make it through the entire book! i'm glad you liked it, that sounds very encouraging.

i'm really killing the outlander series though... started the first during my trip, and now i'm on the fifth. each are over a 1000 pages each! this fifth is almost 1500!
