hi bom!

barm, i read she's come undone and i actually really disliked it. it was super depressing and dark and made me really uncomfortable...i didn't like the main character at all.

Bom, that's next on my list. I'm going to read that crazy vampire book you all recommended (which by the way was pretty embarrassing buying "Dark Lover") first.

You LA girls have it so easy...perfect weather and sample sales!

I think a lot of the Borders Express stores are going out of biz. Maybe that is why they are having such a good sale.

I am a complete Pride and Prejudice fanatic. I have read that book more than 20 times, I think. My family makes fun of me. I even threatened to to name my next daughter Elizabeth Bennett. Ha ha...good thing I didn't have any more kids! I still think I should be living at Pemberley. All of the Jane Austen books are great. Persuasion is one of my faves, too. You can't go wrong with any of them.

What I really want, though, is a Kindle. I love books, but I never have enough space for all my books. They just pile up and I hate to get rid of them. I would love to have a Kindle, with all my favorites at my fingertips. I have never seen one up close. Does anyone have one or know anyone who has one?

I just can't do the Kindle. My mom's a teacher, my dad was an English major before law school, my aunt's a librarian...I like books with pages. Same reason I couldn't do books on tape. I'm an old-fashioned gal when it comes to reading, I suppose. Though the Kindle seems like a great invention - the instant gratification factor, the portability, the convenience...I can definitely see the appeal! But my next house will have a library. With a rolling ladder:p

^^ MY MIL got one for christmas, and LOVES it! Shes such a bookworm its all she talks about.

Good to know, bb. I have been seriously considering purchasing it. It looks really cool. I just wish they had them in stores so that I could play around with it first. It would be so convenient to have everything in one place. I don't know anyone who has one, so I was curious if it was all it was cracked up to be.

WORD.

My Grandmother was DYING to buy me one for Christmas and I respectfully refused. It's almost like a smoker needs the hand to mouth movement. I need finger to page movement LoL.

But for those on the go and without an attachment to the "real deal" then the Kindle is an aweeeesome idea. You should go for it roro.

I hear ya. I wish I had the space for a library. I just don't and I have so many books that just pile up all the time. My mom reads a lot and she gives me books all the time (hardcovers) and I have no place to store them all. Also, I usually take the train to work and carrying a large hardcover is not always convenient. I know it would take some getting used to, and I will not forego books altogether, but the Kindle just seems like a great idea for someone like me. The only problem with the Kindle is having to make sure you keep it charged or you are screwed.

Fellow page-turning addicts unite! Hey, weren't you the one who was writing a novel? I remember getting all excited about there being a fellow writer (not that I'll ever finish mine, lol) on the PF...

The Kindle would be awesome on the train! And you could just charge it every night:yes:
