Many inexpensive bags or one luxury bag?

I am thinking hard about my bag collection now. I have a mostly midrange collection of coach/mk/kate spade and a few randoms. I have been consigning bags i am no longer excited about. I have spent 10 years looking and buying the wrong perfect black everyday work to weekend bag.

I had one that felt great initially but got too popular. Now it is a rainy day bag.

I keep asking, should i spend more on a nicer bag? Will i be happy? I realize i am trying to recreate the feeling i had with my first coach bag: a lady like carryall that fit almost everything (until it died, i got a refund but it never returned). It was the first time i used the same bag daily for months.

I think i have determined it is time to find a new "holy grail" and i'll settle in and stop buying. The new black pretender every year isn't working.

I'm the opposite I have bought and sold many mulberry bags ,Prada and the last one my speedy b ,all trying to find the perfect bag for a lifestyle I don't have ! I have made a loss on most of the sales ,so for me I'm not interested anymore in higher designer bags , the one I use the most is a longchamp its 4 years old now still looks great and carries everything I need. I am going to buy a Massaccesi bag , handmade in Italy not made of them around and best of all no fakes :)
