Many inexpensive bags or one luxury bag?

I like to have a mixture of high and low-end bags, while leaning more towards high-end bags. I bought a few coaches at the beginning, and then moved on to premium designers over time. I was buying high-end bags at a pretty ridiculous rate considering how much I was spending, and I started my collection less than two years ago. I am now at the point that I have very little desire for low-end bags, and I will only purchase one to two bags a year. The low end bags are good for rainy days, outings at bars, and other "risky" situations that I wouldn't dare put my good bags through.

I used to save several midrange is preferred to one higher end. Now, I'd prefer the one perfect bag, but I cannot stomach the $1200 price. Somehow, I'd spend that on 3+ bags in the past, easily, but on one? Can't do it. What is that?

So I love handbags! I have a small collection of COACH, MK, Juicy and I've wanted a an LV for awhile now, but i'm starting to wonder if i'll be happy with one bag? I think that if i get one I will feel the need to use it all the time to 'get my money' out of it or I would feel guilty not using it all the time.
Have any of you gone from using a bunch of bags and gone to using just one?
What are your opinions on making to move to luxury?

I would prefer one higher end, but I can totally understand why people would want more/would want to change it up. I prefer having a smaller number of bags that work well for me (though I don't always follow this in practice. This thread has a lot of useful food for thought as well:

I don't know. I've pondered an answer for days and I think I would need to own a few really good bags. Whether they are premier or designer doesn't matter. I just love style and quality. I have my eye on the new Coach Legacy line and want to check it out IRL. I only own 4 or 5 bags for every day and I know I wouldn't be happy with just one expensive bag every single day. My bags are quite expensive but the thought of not rotating and just wearing the same one day in and day out for a year would totally bore me. I do wear my bags for a few weeks at a time but I know I like to change it up so I guess my answer would be?

Quantity versus quality. I do not mean that contemporary brands do not make quality bags. But I realized that I, myself, get more use out of my LVs than any other brands.

Get a purse that you will love for your lifetime, and get as many uses out of it!

That's why I LOVE buying pre loved! I get premier bags for contemp prices! And contemp bags for Tarjay prices, lol!

I like having a mix. Some of my fav bags are contemp and go w my casual outfits better than premier. Plus, I don't worry so much about taking them to the park, out w kids, etc.

I have plenty of designer bags but nothing over $500. I somehow always try to stick to a black bag...because I am afraid of getting any of my other bags dirty even if they aren't expensive. I want an LV bag but I'm afraid I will never carry it if its not pure black. :(

I know what you're saying. I got an LV bag for my bday last year and it has been my primary bag since. Although it's brown, I think of LV bas as very neutral. I feel they go with any color. I love the way it looks with black. Also, the coated canvas doesn't get dirty very easily. Anything you get on it wipes off. I really want another LV, thinking about a Speedy 25:)

Also, it is so hard to get just one luxury bag. You start with one, and just keep wanting more. I usually start craving a new one after about a year of getting one. Prices have gone up so much over the years, I beginning to consider pre-owned bags.
