So I love handbags! I have a small collection of COACH, MK, Juicy and I've wanted a an LV for awhile now, but i'm starting to wonder if i'll be happy with one bag? I think that if i get one I will feel the need to use it all the time to 'get my money' out of it or I would feel guilty not using it all the time.
Have any of you gone from using a bunch of bags and gone to using just one?
What are your opinions on making to move to luxury?

I guess it depends on what type of luxury bag youre going to spulrge, make sure its versatile to use on every ocassion, i use to think your way and along the way i ended up buying more luxury brands to suit my needs! Lol

I used to own so many Coach bags that I couldn't count them. I sold all of them except one. I still love the brand, but I've moved on to other brands that I love. Now I own TWO purses only! A Christian Dior and a Burberry. I'm very happy with a limited collection. :)

I have got a whole collection of expensive bags and I spent quite a lot of money for years...Now I am asking myself questions...
Some bags I don't even carry...Not that I wouldn't like to but I am scared an accident might happen to them... or because they are too small, too big, too heavy, too ostentatious......
And you know what I said to a friend of mine just a few days ago?
" I should sell all my bags, just keep my Speedy and my Bal.....and buy a Le PLiage everytime I see my addiction coming back!"

I had a bunch of Coach and such and I sold off a lot of other brands that I have. I now have a handful of bags instead of a dozen and am looking very carefully at purchases. I would rather have one or two that I adore than a dozen or more that I don't use. I am eyeing a Mulberry. ;-)

I have a tonne of bags I don't use, and these are just like everyday brands like Zara and Topshop, I brought my Neverfull GM in Oct 11 and it was a crazy purchase! I've always wanted LV and now I have that and my speedy 25, I need to downsize my collection of 200, but you have plenty of years to use your LV bag, some of my favourite bags that get used all the time are Zara and then sometimes LV , so I never feel guilty about not using my LV, buy it you won't regret it

I would go for the luxury bag and forgo the inexpensive bags. I tend to stick with one bag for a while before switching to another so it makes sense for me... I've been doing this for quite a while now, currently with Givenchy. When I'm ready to change, I buy a new one and then sell off the old one because there's always a market for luxury bags. But if you're the type that switches regularly, then go for more of the less expensive bags. I would skip Coach and D&B simply because the resale value isn't that good.... maybe go for Minkoff, Wang or Botkier, etc.

So much depends on you. Do you have a ton of clothes and wear them often? Do you use all your bags often? Do you like variety? Do you like trendier stuff? If yes to these questions, you might be happier with more bags at a lower price point.

I'm 45 and have developed my style and so a fewer number of bags works for me. And personality-wise, I don't like having lots of clothes and shoes and bags--I don't like clutter.

I guess it would depend on what makes you happy. I have about 9 bags in full rotation. But I actually like swapping bags in and out. I'm not particularly attached to any of the luxury brands, I really dislike LV (just a personal preference) and I've looked into other brands like Burberry, Fendi, Gucci but none of them really have designs that I crave. You should look at your style, do you like matching your bags with your outfits etc and that might help you decide if you can deal with having only 1-2 bags. I know I can't

I find that once you get a designer bag, you will continue to buy bags, but less of the inexpensive kind. I think the designer bag really sets the bar on how we gauge our future purchases with lower priced bags. I definitely have purchased less (quantity), but have become pickier (w better quality) with non designer bags every since I got my first designer bag 4 years ago.

I still prefer to carry my designer bags over my inexpensive ones whenever I head to the malls and events. The inexpensive ones I use is for very casual purposes, mainly for grocery shopping or the park. I don't think you will regret your designer purchase!

Very true. Right now, I am new to designer bags. I own 3 Coach, and for Christmas last year, my husband got me my dream bag, the LV damier azur speedy 25. When I go to the grocery store & to work & more casual places, I don't mind taking my Coach. But when I go to dinner or shopping or something, I take my LV. Since my LV is my dream bag, I actually do miss it sometimes when I don't carry it, haha! :p

Now that I have the LV though, I want MORE! LOL! Some people can handle just having one luxury bag, but I really want to get more eventually! I couldn't just carry one bag, but I would rather carry 3 luxury higher end bags than having 20 lower end bags. It's just the honest truth for me.

Then again, at the same time, I doubt I would sell my Coach bags to get an LV. I really do like my Coach bags. I don't know... it's kind of confusing!
