I bought a couple so, yep, they were worth it for me. They are the least expensive bags in my wardrobe and I've found them to be durable, so I think they're good value. They have a unique look as well, which is why I went for them.
I personally wouldn't see those scratches as issues - I expect them with leather. I think you have to be realistic about what you expect - leather will naturally show scars, fat wrinkles, growth lines, etc. It is a natural product after all.
Most of my bags are Givenchy, Mulberry and Balenciaga - even new, they all have those variations. Also, I find after a couple of uses, I've done far worse to my bags anyway! I've found that the MG bags do show marks from wear very easily - it's just the nature of the finish on them.
If you want a bag that keeps a flawless look longer, you might want to consider saffiano. It wears incredibly well and has a more consistent finish. The other way to go is to get an intentionally distressed bag (like a Balenciaga), so these things seem more like 'character' than flaws.
