I always understood the "coated" is the outside of the calf coated bag. Because on the MG site both say interior matte patent.
This is what MG told me...
"The Bucket Bag's in Brandy, Cammello, and Black are made out of a natural, raw and uncoated vegetable tanned leather. The interior is a matte patent leather coating that is bonded with the exterior leather. This give the bags a more structured look.
The Bucket Bag's in Calf Coated are made out of a more elevated calf leather exterior, though they have the same matte patent leather interior as the vegetable tanned leather bags."
So the regular veg tanned bags are uncoated. It would be nice if they just put that on the website.
I wonder how unstructured a raw bag is. I have yet to see a brandy or camello raw.
I totally got that wrong then! I always thought of the coating as the patent.
The raws appear to be pretty structured though they probably soften a bit more than the lined after a lot of wear.
