Congratulations on your bag. That combination is one of my favorites!!
You might want to wear your bag a bit before you condition it. I generally do not condition them immediately.

I just wouldn't be too heavy handed, and make sure you rub it in well.

Thank you very much for the tip! I will try to start small :D

Hi everyone! First time MG owner here :) Just got the mini mini bucket in Rosa, and really excited to use it.

I read through all the threads here and was wondering if someone could share advice on what products to use for water repellant + leather conditioning purposes. I wasn't sure if the calf leather (rosa) needs the same treatment as veg tanned leather. Thank you! :)

Yay my Brandy mini came and I definitely prefer the mini! Now, can I use kiwi protect all spray on it? Has anybody tried it? I use it on LV vachetta but never on an all leather bag.

I got my MG reg sized bucket today. When I ordered it from PS Dept, the picture was a black bucket with a royal blue interior. When I indicated I wanted the the black and blue, I didn't anticipate a navy that is so close to the black exterior. Oh well. The plus is that it will hide dirt better lol.

I hadn't noticed any posts on using LMB, and since I had the kit, I went for it. When I applied the pretreat and the protection products, the leather was a bit streaky. When I got to the conditioner, the streaks remaining after buffing disappeared. Some dirt or dye did come off on the sponges and microfiber cloth, which I have attached a pic to show.

Hi! I noticed this is an old post, but in case you are still around; what kit are you referring to? The Vachetta kit from LMB? :smile1:

If it was, do you recommend this?

I've never used LMB, but I'm planning on buying the Vachetta kit for my MG. On the LMB website it says "for vegetable tanned leather", so I thought it could work :smile1:

Thank you so much

Yes - it's the vachetta kit. I had it around for my LV bags, so I figured, why not? My bag seems fine, less stiff post-application. I followed all the steps for a new bag. My advice is to apply sparingly. It's easier to go back and add more product if you feel that you didn't use enough. I recall seeing LV threads where people over did it and oversaturated the leather

Hi everyone! First time posting here, I received my brandy/avion bucket bag back in August,

and have been using it everyday for almost year, with tons of scratches and scuffs from use. Here's a picture of the "after" treatment with blackrock leather cleaner and collonill waterstop. You can see some watermarks there from rain before I had applied collonill :sweatdrop:

NOW! after cleaning today, I discovered a gash in my bag :crybaby: that goes all the way through!

Does anyone think that this cut may expand? and does anyone have any suggestions from preventing that?

Thanks!

Thank you so much! :) I'm afraid to use my new MG, because I have to wait to get the Vachetta kit. Or maybe it can be used on a worn bag.....

Anyways, I suppose it's the best on the market if it's designed by LMB. I don't think you can go wrong with them :) Though I have no experience.. I'll order the kit then! :)

I treated my brandy lady bag yesterday with Chamberlain's No 1 leather milk. I didn't get the number 3 because I didn't want the leather to darken too much prematurely. In retrospect, it was harder to apply and some of the streaking didn't go away.

Anyone have suggestions on how to smooth out the streaking? I

I'm planning to spray Collonoil Waterstop at a later date.

Thanks!

I was wondering if anybody has tried the Coach moisturiser on their Mansur Gavriel?

http://malaysia.coach.com/disp/CSfGoodsPage_001.jsp?GOODS_NO=37733&DISP_NO=005003005007

This was noted under their Caution:

Not for use with water buffalo, suede, retro treated, nappa, vachetta, patent leather, hair calf, or fabric materials - please follow directions on bottle for usage and product compatibility

so I'm a lil' apprehensive to try but I live in Malaysia and I can't find the Apple conditioner or Bick's either. Many thanks in advance for any advice :)

P/S: I just bought the black/marina and am gonna buy a conditioner to apply before using the bag

Did you ever end up using the coach moisturizer on your bag?

Has anyone tried the new Coach moisturizer on the bucket bags? The newer bottle says that it shouldn't be used on suede, nubuck, water buffalo calfskin or leather-trimmed fabric. Does this mean the veg tanned leather is safe?
