Great news about a bag allocation. Does anyone have any definite date for the opening - it might be an idea to arrange a meet the same day or soon after perhaps?

Count me in please for any meetings, I'm quite happy to slum it or glam it anywhere. I was very upset to find out that the restaurant 'Blanc' has closed since my last trip to Manchester, it was recommended by Hermes staff

H day (Selfridges opening) is supposed to be beginning of June if the renovations are completed on time

Bumping to see if anyone has any more info re: opening date/opening event. I would be great to have a Manchester meet up that would combine the opening event. Plus we could have our own mini trawl through all (all 2!) of the stores and a nice lunch somewhere <<hopeful emoticom>>

The latest news I have is that it is due to open June 1st, however they have had teething problems so I was told wait & see. The existing shop will close as Selfridges open as they are also refitting the old shop. Heaven knows how they will all fit in the Selfridges one. I was told they are not planning anything special for the actual opening day. Does anyone else know any different?

Ms Birkin do you mean the H boutique will close for renovation just as Selfridges open their H? That's a bit of a shame if that's the case I was hoping for some more choice!! Mind you the H store DOES need a revamp when I was there to buy my Please Check In the furniture was looking quite battered and I feared for my scarf catching on something - yikes!
I heard June for Selfridges too.

Yes, sorry if it was not clear. King Street will close the day before Selfridges opens. All existing stock will be transferred to Selfridges whilst King Street has its refit. The refit of King Street is supposed to be completed in a week.
If they are not doing a special event at the Selfridges opening, it may be worth waiting until the H store reopens and arrange a meet up then. At least we would have 2 stores to browse then?
