I receive a phone call from my SA. I have been asked when in the store if I was still interested. It appears varied from reading this thread's comments

Yah, I have noticed. I'm slightly new so trying not to seem too eager but interested at the same time. Oh well. Hermes makes me lil crazy sometimes lol in a good way.

How do you know you been offered a bag? I know this sounds ridiculous to ask but I am not sure.

My SA asked me after buying mostly scarves and CDCs from her for a few months if I wanted a B or a K and actually I said no. Eventually, I fell down the H slippery orange slope but at first I gently resisted. Now five Bs/Ks later, I am contemplating which color leather is next and I think that I will let my two grown DDs make this decision for me. It's a dangerous thing, this love of all things H.

What is it with all of us that hate talking on the phone!? I am soooo bad about that. I hate making calls, returning calls...I don't even like listening to messages, Lol! I'm so relieved to know I'm not the only one. I much prefer if my SA texts me. But I think maybe she hates the phone too. :p Is Line available in the US do you know?

I hate it so much too!!

Hahaha again we are so similar! I was buying scarves for *years* before I even considered any leather goods....actually it was the SM who convinced me that I really needed an H bag!!!

Hello,
My home store is the one in Costa Mesa which is known for hard to get B and K from. I have stopped going there for a year due to my volunteering work. I am now ready to shop there again. Perhaps, I can get a Kelly, but I have no interest in playing pay to play again. I'm to old and my time and money are too valuable for me to flitter away. Do you girls suggest me how to shop there again? It is kind of awkward since I haven't gone there for a whole year.
Thank you! Truly appreciate all opinions!

^ If you don't want to pay to play then perhaps put some of the money you would have ponied up to "play" and take a trip to Paris to try your luck. Your odds are no worse and the money and time spent on the trip will be negligible compared to the expense in your home store. In addition, if you are lucky in Paris, the bag is significantly less expensive.

GL!

i think I may. Thank you, Oryx816. I fantasized another day to go to Paris and try my luck there, but I may not be able to go there for a couple of years from now. But if I can get a Kelly over there, it would be a really good souvenir of the trip, wouldn't it?

I understand the frustration with the H ways but the options of Paris or Japan are available and you get a lovely vacation to boot. Japan is more expensive but still worthwhile. Obtaining a bag is just the icing on the cake of a memorable vacation!

Hate to be the grinch that stole Christmas but buying at H is somewhat of a game and is all about the hunt or the chase of a somewhat unattainable item. So if you aren't in the mood to play the game then don't, you can play the lottery and go to Paris instead or even better work with a reputable reseller and pay a little more for a B/K.

Truly there is no short way around building a relationship with an SA, this is a process that takes time and some funds buying items in other categories rather than bags.

Have heard that Vegas is pretty easy when it comes to H newbies buying a B/K. Maybe go there for a weekend and take a chance? It is there or Paris imo.

Hope that you have luck - do not discount the reseller option if funds are of no consequence. Just make sure that they are reputable, TPF has a list of them.

Thank you so much for your sincere suggestions! You're truly appreciated! I really feel awkward to play that kind of game. I'll look into other routes like Vegas, Paris or resellers!
Cheers,

Same for me! I started out with scarves and thought I'd stay there... It was my SA that convinced me I needed some bags!
I was taken on a tour of the store a while after I started to shop there with my SA, and fell in love with things from departments I never had given much thought before hand, because a lot of the items aren't on the site or don't get posted about on TPF.

My SA is patient. Not pushy. So she brought out what she believes looks right with my frame & look.
I believe it is all about a good relationship.

a) How often are you in contact with your SA/store? Be it via phone calls, emails, personal store visits.

b) Do you feel like you need to keep your H relationship warm by keeping a constant and regular contact? Do you believe that it's a case of "out of sight, out of mind" with H staff; that time away from your store will affect your H relatioship?

c) if for whatever reason/s, you stop calling your store maybe because you were going through a busy period. Will your SA remember to call you?

d) Suppose you asked your SA to do a global search for something for you. Do you get to hear back from your SA? Do you get regular updates about the status? We all know that global searches are manual, and responses can be as late as 6 weeks' later. Do you need to constantly remind your SA to ask about this?

A) Emails - twice a season (5 Stores)
B) Yes, but I tell my London local stores when I will be out of town for how long, and I come back to show them items that I bought from my travels.
C) Yes, they always do. Especially when new season items are in.
D) No, they always email me or text me on whatever the item may be.

I keep a good relationship with not just one SA from one store, I actually is friendly with a lot of SAs in all the stores that I regularly visit., and I do visit at least 5 stores regularly. Sometimes, the SA tells me "Why didn't you buy XXX from this store? Get it from us!!"
