Lol! I don't know what it is because I am otherwise fairly social, but I abhor phone calls. I rarely answer the phone. Fortunately, here in Asia most businesses (including Hermes--thank goodness) use Line too, so I can use it to make dental, hairdressing, or spa appointments etc. It is great!

Line is a free app from Japan and it is available in the US. I got my friends back home hooked on it too. They ditched WhatsApp after trying Line. It has cute "stickers" and the functionality is terrific. For those who like to make calls, you can make them for free. You can leave voice messages (I never use this feature, and only my daughter's Mandarin teacher has ever left me a message this way). You can also speak your message and it will type it out if you get tired of typing or if you are driving. It is highly customizable and useful beyond its communication functions.

I hate messages too! Fortunately, where I live no one uses voicemail, and it isn't included with cellular service. I think it can be purchased separately but I don't know as I am perfectly delighted not to have it! Lol!

I'm glad to see I'm not alone! My husband is a big phone person and he makes me crazy with his incessant phone calls! Then he complains he can't reach me! Meanwhile, my H SA can always reach me! [emoji23]

Haven't heard of Line chat but Line is actually from Korea not Japan. I thought Asia mostly use WeChat.

I also hate to answer calls especially by private caller. I preferred text or email too.

Does Hermes SA's give out their personal cell number for texting? I was told such practice is against policy at my home store but i heard others give out their cell no. for texting...

I was told by my sales associate at my home store this same policy. They are only allowed to correspond via email or talk on the phone (store phone number) but not give out their cell number or text clients.

I suppose I wasn't clear. Line was developed in Japan by Japanese engineers who work for a Korean company as a communication tool during the tsunami some years ago. China is big on WeChat. Each country has their own dominant preference. Generally I find that people have more than one messaging app on their phone anyway. Where I do business, (Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan), Line is king. I do business in Singapore and Indonesia as well, and most people I deal with have Line, WhatsApp and WeChat.

Anyway, I am just glad there are so many options for those of us who hate to use the phone!!!! [emoji322]

I was wondering on quotas for b or k, is that by store or for the whole country? I'm based in the US and have bought Bs in 2 different cities. I just bought a B in my local store but I'm traveling in the next couple of months and wonder if I can ask my other store for another B? Last year I was offered a K even though I had bought a B only 4 months prior and it was within the 6 month period. So I'm wondering if they really enforce the 6 month rule.

It's not a literal 6 months from purchase but 1 bag per semester (Jan-Jun, Jul-Dec) for the entire US.

Yes, I understand that but I'm wondering if they actually enforce it. I was offered a kelly in the same half that I bought my birkin but it was at a different store in another state.

I haven't experienced any enforcement. I have been offered more than one B/K in the same visit. I think these are guidelines that they enforce as rules when they feel like doing so.

Your SM can override the 1 B/K per 6-month rule ~ mine has and I live in the USA. It is a great idea to get to know your SM too.

I agree with you. I asked my local SA about it and he said their store enforces it. However, he was the one that offered me a Kelly when I had purchased a B in another store during the same period. :confused1:

How do you know you been offered a bag? I know this sounds ridiculous to ask but I am not sure.

They ask you if you want to buy a specific color, size and hardware of a bag. Doesn't just mean B or K but generally they ask if you want to buy a bag they have available for sale.

Being asked for wish list, colors, leathers etc is not an actual offer. I hope this is helpful.
