This conversation is very interesting. With my sales A at my H, we primarily email (I don't like talking on the phone- can't multitask as well). With my associate at Bergdorfs and Saks in BevHills we mainly txt msg and email. I know a lot of retail companies give their sales A's their own work phone just for client txting...

Does Hermes SA's give out their personal cell number for texting? I was told such practice is against policy at my home store but i heard others give out their cell no. for texting...

I hate speaking on the phone (almost pathologically) but I love the Line messaging app that is commonly used here in Asia. Fortunately, my SA also loves Line and we are Line friends and chat regularly and she sends me pics etc via the app. So yes, they do provide clients with their cell phone numbers. I don't know if they are work phones but my SA has sent me pics from her vacation so I'm inclined to think it is her personal number. I have never asked since it is irrelevant to our relationship.

There is so much H lingo to keep up with on here lol. A quota item is something like a birkin or kelly where the sales manager/sales associate can control the number of those bags that you receive in a year. Typically, it's one quota bag every six months, but there are exceptions and variations between boutiques.
Thank you for the explanation!

What is it with all of us that hate talking on the phone!? I am soooo bad about that. I hate making calls, returning calls...I don't even like listening to messages, Lol! I'm so relieved to know I'm not the only one. I much prefer if my SA texts me. But I think maybe she hates the phone too. :p Is Line available in the US do you know?

Even just listening to messages freaks me out too. I am always so relieved when my voice mailbox is full! I didn't realize there were so many like me! :hugs:

My SA always emails or texts me and yes, I have her personal email and cell phone. She knows that I absolutely will not talk on my phone and have even gone so far as to disconnect my voice mail because I never listened to messages ~ ever. Also, my SA knows that I respond very quickly via email/text and that is the most effective way to reach me. I call her only when necessary and that is probably once a year. This has not been a problem for us and we have maintained a very good relationship for 5+ years. My thoughts are that communication should be in whatever mode is most comfortable for the customer.

Lol! I don't know what it is because I am otherwise fairly social, but I abhor phone calls. I rarely answer the phone. Fortunately, here in Asia most businesses (including Hermes--thank goodness) use Line too, so I can use it to make dental, hairdressing, or spa appointments etc. It is great!

Line is a free app from Japan and it is available in the US. I got my friends back home hooked on it too. They ditched WhatsApp after trying Line. It has cute "stickers" and the functionality is terrific. For those who like to make calls, you can make them for free. You can leave voice messages (I never use this feature, and only my daughter's Mandarin teacher has ever left me a message this way). You can also speak your message and it will type it out if you get tired of typing or if you are driving. It is highly customizable and useful beyond its communication functions.

I hate messages too! Fortunately, where I live no one uses voicemail, and it isn't included with cellular service. I think it can be purchased separately but I don't know as I am perfectly delighted not to have it! Lol!

I'm glad to see I'm not alone! My husband is a big phone person and he makes me crazy with his incessant phone calls! Then he complains he can't reach me! Meanwhile, my H SA can always reach me! [emoji23]
