Hello everyone, I'm at a bit of a crossroads in terms of what to do so I thought I'd come on here to seek some advice. I've been working with an SA at my local boutique for about 2.5 years (not consistently, but I reach out every time I see something I like) and recently I've been shopping at the store more consistently. I'm interested in a GP30 and was told they don't have any but that I'd be notified once they do. It's been almost 3 weeks and I haven't heard anything but a few days after I went to the boutique to inquire about the bag, I texted my SA in regards to something else and I haven't heard back from her since. Should I reach out once again to ask about the bag/other inquiry or just wait until she reaches out first? She's usually very very good about texting promptly so I'm not too sure what's going on.

Absolutely reach out or swing by and see if she’s there  SAs get busy; sick; inundated with texts; and life happens. Of course, when they cannot get a hold of stock, sometimes they go radio silent too.

Hello everyone,

I am in a bit of a dilemma and would like some advice. So my SA recently got promoted and is moving to another location. I am super happy for them but I don’t know what that means for me. Should I stay with my store or move with my SA? The reason I ask is became I am a remote shopper and the new location is somewhere I could travel to as well, in fact it might be easier for me.

I have gotten most items I have asked for (after a wait if not available) except for a QB. I was only offered one QB in 2021 which I took and have not received any since with my SA. I know this could be due to being a remote shopper and having a modest 2-2.5x spend compared to others although I do shop almost every month or so.

So if I want to receive a QB soon should I stick with my current store and find a new SA or try moving with my SA in the hopes that with the promotion and new store I have better luck? The other store is in a more competitive location but might receive more stock.

Thank you in advance!

I would probably ask her right away if she could get you a qb before she moves. I feel like its tricky after they leave.

Thank you. She had asked me for an updated wishlist a few weeks ago and said she is working on it. Would it be off-putting to ask again a few weeks after? Especially given it might be harder once she leaves.
Absolutely ask. I would also ask her if she recommends that you go with her
if she says she cannot take clients. I would go see her; ask who she recommends; and if she can introduce in person.
however, my top choice is usually to stick to the SA (this is against common TPF opinion to stick to the store, but you know your relationships best)

Hi - I'm a bit unsure about where I stand with my SA so thought I'd share my story and get your take. I started shopping with my current SA about a year ago. At our first appt she asked me about my wishlist (my previous SA at the store who left never started one for me). And the next few times I went in she'd always initiate a conversation about my wishlist (e.g., to confirm/update it). She offered me a QB in the second half of last year (not the style I requested but beautiful, coveted color and size), but we had to pass because I wasn't around that day and it didn't seem like she could hold it for me. First appt after that, we again spent most of our time talking about my wishlist and she said that she'd prioritize me and hoped to get me something by Mother's Day. Over the months since that first offer I bought a few things remotely and pre-ordered more items coming to my store. We had a very pleasant working relationship.

I didn't text her before Mother's Day because I didn't want to pressure her but definitely had my hopes up. The day came and went. Since then I've texted to ask whether they had in store an item I saw on the website, and got a flat no. She had helped me with online orders and charge sends before, so I was a little surprised (though this was a relatively small item so maybe not worth her time). Then I texted to ask for an appt. When I followed up one week later after getting no response, she told me there was no availability and someone else would be able to help me.

I'm not sure what to think about our recent interactions, but it's making me think twice about how to continue working with her. Is it commonplace for an SA to volunteer someone else to help (instead of trying to find a time that works)? Should I ask her about my chances of getting a QB this year?

I genuinely like what I buy so I don't count pre-spend. It's not particularly high, but since I got a good offer before I've assumed it's sufficient.

Appreciate any thoughts. TIA!

That’s odd. I’d probably ask her if she was leaving?

What was your first offer?

It was a Birkin 25.

Interesting. I didn’t really consider that because I (maybe mistakenly) assumed that if she was leaving she would just tell me.
That’s sure bizarre. She offered you one of the hottest bags so she must like you enough.

If I were to guess I’d say:
1. She’s leaving
2. She was newer at the time she met you and didn’t have as extensive as client list then so she offered you top choice. Now she may have more people shopping with her and thinks you’re not worth her time?
3. She’s just really busy and thinks you’ll be better served by someone else? Or the time slots you want don’t work for her anymore?
4. Something offended her at your last couple of visits?

Just spitballing. Of course you will only find out if you ask her.

Thank you! Agree that I will probably have to find out from her what’s going on.

+1 These are very possible reasons.

My SA has said something similar to me before regarding someone else being available to help me. I had only shopped with him for a few months but he had offered me a few non-quota bags. I assumed it was a test lol and told him something along the lines of “no, it’s okay. I’d rather shop with you/come into the store when you’re available.”
