Thanks for your input. I’m glad to hear it’s a detail I don’t have to consider. It was something I’ve seen mentioned in threads, that store managers care about selling their own store’s inventory and that ultimately store managers make the decision on bag offers, so other people made it seem important but glad it isn’t. I buy things that catch my fancy but they’re not “much-wanted,” so I feel flexible about what I buy, it’s just sizing that usually prevents me from buying in store.
I think you were getting "charge sends" and "transfers" confused. A charge send is when your SA gets the credit for the sale, but the inventory gets shipped from a different location. A transfer is when another store sends their inventory to your home store without you first buying it.

So the gamble comes in if you never show up to purchase, or you see it in person and don't like it enough to purchase. Then essentially your store is stuck with the merch; and the other store has lost the ability to sell that item because it's sitting in your store's inventory. So that may be where you've heard the managers/SA are skeptical yo do that---they are sensitive to their already scarce inventory.

It all depends on yout relationship with your SA (and the spend history you have which helps them determine the probability you'll actually purchase it) and your store's employee' relationship with those of another store. My SA has offered to bring in lots of items from another store for me, but the roadblock has mostly been the other store's reluctance to let them go.

Hope this helps.

No, she wasn’t confusing the two. There definitely is an advantage to buying stock directly from your store vs sending it from another store, it’s just ridiculous to take it into account heavily as a client when one is lucky to find something in stock at all from Hermes these days. An SA would much prefer a charge send sale today than a promise to buy something with an indefinite wait that will likely never come true. I also think if a client is clearly shopping this way with their SA, the SA is going to pick up on the fact that the client is hardcore playing the game and be turned off/get reseller vibes.

Yeah I definitely agree with this; that was pretty much what I summed up in my previous post: the future is so unlikely, that an SA puts more faith in a charge send than the hassle of trying to get it from another store---just to find out the anticipated sale won't even transact.

I am not sure...for the reasons you mentioned above (i.e. stock is so scarce & sporadic nowadays), charge sending a lot doesn't necessarily equate to a bad thing. It just might mean 'carpe diem' (for both the SA and the client), especially of there is "nothing in the cards" for that store actually receiving the requested items.

I was referring to shopping in the way OP was considering. “SA do you have X in stock?” “No, but I can charge send it from Y store.” “Oh, no thanks, I’ll just wait to see if you get one here. How about Z item?” “No, but store B has it.” “oh that’s ok, I’ll just wait” ….OP looks around…picks up a random ashtray from the shelf... “Ok I’ll just take this then”

Thanks for making fun of me when I just asked an innocent question looking to understand dynamics that other people have suggested. It’s great to see how supportive the Hermes community is.

My apologies. My intent was not to make fun of you specifically as you haven’t actually shopped that way. I’m sure there are some clients who do shop the way illustrated in my example and they are probably all resellers (a la all the sellers we see with a wide array of oran shoe sizes for sale “oh I’ll just take whatever sizes you have in stock” :confused1: ) which was why I was warning against such an approach.

Don’t get too hung up on this “already sold out” mindset. H inventory is constantly in flux so just because there are zero available pieces today, doesn’t mean that one or two won’t be delivered throughout the week or whenever. I assure you RMS cardholders are not forever sold out.
Very much agree. There’s a lot of fluctuation and it could be that SAs have a lot of requests from clients and aren’t proactively going to reach out for SLG due to high in store demand. I find with smaller items I have to periodically check in with my SA and she has only proactive updated me on a smaller item once, and it was probably just because it arrived two days after I left the store.

Contrary to the other person’s paris report from April, I went on a Saturday randomly and they apparently got a big shipment of SLGs. I was offered a bearn compact, roulis slim, calvi duo, and rodeos (all classic neutral colors) by my SA, without me asking simply because a shipment with lots of slg items arrived that morning.

Check in periodically and you may get different results!

Happy to report back after speaking with my SA last week to clear the air (by the way went superb...she said I was one of her best clients who is sooo sweet) today I received my offer. Although I asked to have a for a B25/K25/Kmini in beton, craie or nata...my sa offered a K28 in beton. I have an appt set already this Saturday as DH and I were initially going to look at ties until today's text! OVERJOYED

Thank you all for the advice and will share pics if I purchase:smile:

Hi everyone! Hope this question is ok. I'm new to PF and Hermes but I made some purchases this weekend :) The lovely SA that was helping me gave her contact info and I'd like to send a quick thank you note and express interest in a few more items. I took a photo of the card but silly me misplaced it lol. In the photo I can see her full phone # but the email is half blocked.

Is the format [email protected] or [email protected]? Or is it preferred to text your SA? I'm in Toronto.

Thank you in advance!

I believe the standard format for their emails are "firstname.lastname".
Some SAs prefer emails some prefer text, and some prefer to start with emails before switching to texts once you have worked with them a bit, so it's hard to say. I'd maybe start with email then try a text; you can also call the store and ask for your SA if you get no response. Do give them a couple days to respond (because they aren't allowed to take their work phones home & can be busy when at work & of course can have days off too, so replying can take a bit).

Hi - I can confirm for TO boutique, it's [email protected]. Texting was ok during the lockdown etc but since over a year, it's been emails if you're not visiting the boutique in person.

For the most part, yes. I tried to email one SA and got an undeliverable mail and it seems her name had extra info than the standard. This is coincidentally in TO as well. Everyone else I’ve been in touch with prior has firstname.lastname as the format.

Does loyalty spend reset on a calendar year basis? Eg if I hit 2.5x over two years, does that still count towards a QB, or am I at the back of the line if I stop coming in regularly for 6 months?
My home store tells me it resets after a year of non purchase, so not according to calendar year, but the period in between purchases should not be more than a year. I think 6 months is ok.
