Wondering if folks can share how long their SA has been able to hold something for? I’ve tried searching but not found a dedicated thread or master response.

My SA texted me that something I’d asked for (GP 49) was in store, but I am traveling and can’t make it in until early next week. The image she sent also looks like the bag is in a display area, not in a back room, so unsure if that means it can’t be held at all?

I’ve texted asking her to hold but haven’t heard back so thought to seek the friendly wisdom here
You have done the right thing. Your SA knows your response to the offer and might not think it necessary to message further. I hope that if the answer to your request had been negative, your SA would have let you know.

I've had a bag (HAC) held for me for 4 months as I was out of the country. If they know you are 100% taking the bag, they'll pull it off the display area and put it in the back with your name on it.

I need some tips please on how to maintain a long distance relationship SA who’s at different country? :’)
You and your SA will determine best method of communication via What’s App or email or text. I contact my FSH SA for an appt as soon as I know my travel schedule, sometimes months in advance, and I confirm upon arrival.

The title of the thread is 'Maintaining a H relationship'.
It may not be helpful to someone looking for help in a forum, but a Golden Rule to 'maintain a good relationship' with your SA it would be best not to share their details.

Yes, this! But I will add best not to share their details without asking first. Some of my SAs, regardless of brand, do not want their contact information shared, as they have full client rosters. Others are still trying to build up their books, so are more than happy to take on new clients by referral. I will note SAs might prefer a referral from me is for someone I personally know (kind of like vouching for them), but this may not matter to some.

That is essentially the point I made.
I doubt SAs happy to take new clients by referral would want referral of strangers from a public media forum.

100% agree. I would suggest, go the boutique route if you genuinely love merchandise from other departments like home and RTW; you intend to patronize the establishment on a semi regular basis; and, you would be willing to purchase such items even without the bags. I buy only what I love without expectations or feelings of entitlement for a QB, if only to avoid being seriously disappointed lol). If so, it’s relatively easy to begin a productive relationship on your own. I don’t think it is at all easy to maintain a relationship if your main goal is to transact for a bag. (I’m not saying you have to be best buddies either, simply a respectful and clear one). If your main objective is a bag, it’s easier, faster, and honestly less costly to go reseller or Paris lottery.

You hit the nail on the head.
I might have expressed this before, but I soon recognised that the title of this thread is a misnomer, or only partially truthful. It is not about establishing a good relationship with an SA to cultivate a good shopping experience; it should be described as how do I ingratiate myself with my SA to get a quota bag.

Finally someone said it

I do know a OG TPFer who doesn’t buy much and gets multiple QB bag offers in Paris. But, here is the key difference. She would absolutely buy if the items truly work for her, AND she has impeccable taste and both knowledge and passion about Hermes product and history. And the RTW, jewelry, and bags look great on her. As such, Hermes SAs, yes, multiple ones, love talking with her. But she would honestly be just as happy spending hours in the FSH museum and garden, even if it meant skipping her leather appt, and I don’t know anyone else who would do that lol
