Hi everyone, I am new to the Hermes journey and I am wondering about how to approach appointments during which I want to look at a specific category. I want to make an appointment to explore homeware but I don’t have a specific idea in mind as to what kind/look I want to go with - just looking to gradually build up my H collection. If I don’t have a specific request/item in mind before the appointment, will my SA just show me what’s on the floor and not what’s potentially in stock in the back? TIA!
It might help to have some colors in mind, or tell him/her your style..that way he/she will have an idea what to show/suggest to you. Homeware can be a pretty wide category, so it might help to tell them if you want stuff for kitchen, furniture, blankets/pillows, china, silverware, etc.

You could consider not making an appointment at all for the moment in favor of doing what used to be called ‘browsing’. If you’re near a larger boutique, just go in and wander around. You’ll get a feel for what things look like in person without taking up an appointment slot when, as you say, you don’t really know what you want. I’d also suggest browsing a few of the Hermes websites around the world; again, it’s all eye candy, and you’ll be better informed when you meet with an SA. :flowers:

That's a great suggestion. How do you find those national sites, in other words how do you know which exact address to type in the bar? I know some countries have weird prefixes and suffixes. Do you randomly just experiment with different addresses and hope they take you to the international sites?

Do you have a few of the links on hand that you could share?

Just google “Hermes Canadian Website” etc

I’ve just recently discovered that you can click on the country (upper right hand) an switch to another. I had no idea it was an actual hot button (or whatever they’re called) and used to do exactly as @acrowcounted suggests, just googling them.

Hi lovely ladies!Being a newbie, it’s been amazing to go through the various threads with all the knowledge being shared. So thank you old timers. I came here because I was curious about what happens when you pause or spend little at Hermes. I think that would be my strategy to spend little in this year but with this strategy would I still be able to upkeep my relationship with my SA. When you are not spending a lot how could you still maintain your relationship with your SA.Because you don’t want to spend everything that you have just for Hermes in this inflation/economic scenario.I don’t want to ruin my chances for getting another Q bag I know there are always going to be debates on if your "spend" and/or "relationship" will be enough for certain bags to appear but can’t spend a lot so what should my plan of action for future be?

Ask for things that the SA doesn’t have.

Have been working with current SA for a years and got one QB. However, during the whole process I was not very comfortable working with him. Couple things -
1. not very responsive on texts
2. the SA has his own rule of what I can buy to be considered as pre spending. I have friends shopping in the same store but they never heard these rules from their SAs.
3. Never gave bags that are in my wish list (or even close to my wish list. e.g. I said I want a Kelly 25 (no preference on color and hardware) and was offered a birkin 30 and he didnt tell me until I arrived the store (I live 2.5 hours drive away from the store)
4. Kept telling me my pre-spending is very low compared to other customers (actually my pre spending ratio is 1+).

Anyone has any thoughts on how to change a SA in the same store?
People may call your situation normal, but I would not tolerate this. At minimum, I would switch SAs; I don’t know, it would probably sour me from spending at H as a whole honestly. I’m sorry, your SA sounds …. not good. Just my opinion, of course.

I do this all the time. Especially for RTW. I found a dress on France’s site that I really liked and gave the product ID to my SA. It wasn’t showing in the US yet but he put it in my profile and when they started trickling in I was able to get one.

I think you are overthinking this. Instead, simply focus on the items that you really want, and don’t worry about the clock or prespend. A good SA thinks long term and will not push a client to spend outside his comfort zone. The courtesy goes both ways of course, and it may simply take longer to get a QB when you pause. All SAs realize that very few of us need more things. It’s a matter of want or desire and keeping spend in one’s own personal comfort zone. :)
