Hello, I am new to this H game and wanted some help/advice. I am not a high spender, but would love to one day get a qb. I was wondering do SA's know if I speak to different SA's within the store or at different stores? And what is actually listed/noted on your profile?
I made a profile, when my friend was buying something and asked if they had non-qb. I believe they added notes, but I never reached out or heard from them since I never bought anything with them. So, I decided to buy something small from a new SA, but it felt very transactional and could not connect, but I decided to text them about wanting a non-qb, but they said they didn't have anything and would keep a lookout. Well, a week later, I walked in and my friend was speaking with a random SA so I decided to ask if they had a non-qb bag and they had the one I wanted.

Also, before getting my non-qb, I contacted another store SA before about wanting something, but never bought anything from them and don't plan on shopping at location either. This was during COVID, which inventory was super low and I have 2 stores around me and wanted to see, which one would have inventory that could offer me something.

The trick is just that once you start shopping with someone you like, be loyal to them and their store. No worries about anything before that and assuming you liked the SA you got the bag from, I’d recommend continuing to shop solely with that individual. Good luck!

Have been working with current SA for a years and got one QB. However, during the whole process I was not very comfortable working with him. Couple things -
1. not very responsive on texts
2. the SA has his own rule of what I can buy to be considered as pre spending. I have friends shopping in the same store but they never heard these rules from their SAs.
3. Never gave bags that are in my wish list (or even close to my wish list. e.g. I said I want a Kelly 25 (no preference on color and hardware) and was offered a birkin 30 and he didnt tell me until I arrived the store (I live 2.5 hours drive away from the store)
4. Kept telling me my pre-spending is very low compared to other customers (actually my pre spending ratio is 1+).

Anyone has any thoughts on how to change a SA in the same store?

Don’t try this at home.
My SA has one year (maybe because I’m getting close to moving on already since I’ve worked with someone better) from my wishlist to produce, regardless of the advice on here, YouTube or wherever else and then I’m moving on to another SA in the same store and I’m not looking back just like I would any other relationship that’s not fruitful. I only date (or relationship) with a purpose  At the end of the day it’s for bags and other things that I already own.

You’ve gotten a QB in a year? That seems pretty decent. What country are you in? I’m sure that would help others? I have no advice as a newbie just asking.

Ok, I’ll give it a go -
1. As has been mentioned throught this forum recently, many SA’s simply don’t have time to reply to the overwhelming number of texts they receive every day they are at work and, incentivized by the current Hermes business model, they prefer to assist customers who are physically in the boutique.
2. The SA has whatever rules they think will generate a ‘yes’ when they ask the SM if they can offer you a given bag. Those rules are very likely to be specific to the SA’s client portfolio. So if the amount you’ve spent at the boutique is less than other clients in your SA’s portfolio, no matter what that amount is, you may or not move up to the top of the list, depending on what you’re looking for and what everyone else is looking for.
3. While I agree it would be a bit off-putting to drive 2.5 hours expecting to take a look at a Kelly and then be offered a Birkin, that’s really only a problem if you were clear at the outset that under no circumstances would you ever even consider a bag other than a Kelly; most people are more flexible. Also, you didn’t mention whether your SA gave you any idea what you were going to see, so its hard to determine if there’s a real issue here. And finally on this point, the SA may well have had a Kelly to offer you but someone more important (by whatever metric you want to use) may have come in before you or instead of you.
4. ’Pre-spend’ is an unfortunate term because as I understand it, it only has meaning in some Asian countries where it is more explicitly used as a metric. As you didn’t mention where you shop I’ll just note that my perspective is from shopping in the US and from reading other posts from shoppers in other areas.

And so, at the end of the day you’re free to do whatever you want that will make your shopping a pleasant experience, as luxury shopping should be. If you want a Kelly 25 right now, the reseller route is available to you; pay a lot of money, get it authenticated, and get exactly what you want. If you want the boutique experience, ‘patience’ is the name of the game. And I might add that since you’ve already received one Birkin, Kelly or Constance (or other style considered a ’QB’ in your boutique) many on this forum would consider you quite lucky.

If, to answer your direct question, you want to switch SA’s, go in when your SA isn’t there, and work with someone else (and keep your expectations low because you won’t really have any way to determine where you stand in the new SA’s list of clients either).

Hopefully others will chime in and correct me if I’ve been off base or truly incorrect but I hope my answers will be of some help even though they many not be exactly what you wanted to hear. :flowers:

I think the attitude any one should have while shopping at Hermes is that we are NOT OWED anything outside of what we have paid money for.
This includes quota bag offers, prompt replies on messages, skips in lines, our wishlist bags etc.
This is the harsh truth, but if you don't like it, there are other brands that will provide you with better service.

If you don't go in with this attitude, you are just setting yourself up for disappointment.

Hmmm. I see this very differently. I think you should feel lucky to have 1 QB - you could have politely refused it if it didn’t meet your expectations. Other folks on this forum have spent multiple times the amount you have, but with no QB. It sounds like your SA is trying to be honest and help you - to put you in the best position he can and set expectations with you (1+ is low ). Just my thoughts.

you need to inform your SA that you do not like surprises. Do not go into the store unless your SA tells you there is something u exactly want….I live within 20mins from my store and my SA could hold items for 3 days. She never lets me make a wasted trip.

It’s like training a dog. Keep repeating until he/she gets it.

No offense, but this sounds super manipulative of him.

Hi everyone, I am new to the Hermes journey and I am wondering about how to approach appointments during which I want to look at a specific category. I want to make an appointment to explore homeware but I don’t have a specific idea in mind as to what kind/look I want to go with - just looking to gradually build up my H collection. If I don’t have a specific request/item in mind before the appointment, will my SA just show me what’s on the floor and not what’s potentially in stock in the back? TIA!

Typically for home, you can see whatever they have on the floor and they are happy to check in the back, but most things are out of stock with lengthy lead times.

Agree with the posts of @textilegirl and @oshinex above. 1+ prespend, even excluding all leather, is way too low to expect a bag IMO. Of course there are people who magically get QBs with little or no prespend, but I would not assume this is the norm.
