Hi Fixxi, I want to share with you an extra datapoint from my personal shopping etiquette at Hermes. From my years of shopping at Hermes, I have only brought once - one box of chocolate for my SA to share with other SAs after holiday, when I was picking up my Special Order (SO) Birkin. Other than that, I have not brought anything for my Hermes SA during holidays, because I normally avoid the busy holiday shopping seasons. I personally prefer a more relaxed & leisure environment when I do my Hermes shopping.
However, I have been a consistent good customer for the boutique, and always be nice to SAs and others. Hope it will let you know that gifting is not needed to establish a good relationship with SAs and the boutique.
My boutique does not allow person gifting. If I purchase a treat it’s for the entire staff.

I have 2 questions and can't figure out anywhere else to ask:

1. Does anyone know if the second offer is easier or harder than the first in the US right now? As in, is it usual practice to wait longer for the second offer than the first? I've heard conflicting opinions on this issue, but all were essentially pre-COVID, so not sure if things have changed given the soaring demand.

2. In the current environment, is the Kelly Wallet To Go in neutrals a hard or relatively easy item to get in the US?

Based on my personal experience, second offer is harder than the first. I got my first after 7 months or so (July last year, requested Gold GHW specifically so was told it took a bit longer than normal). I am still waiting on my second, even with double the spend from the first time around.

Regarding Kelly WTG, I requested a neutral back in November and it has yet to come into my store... I practically forgot about it until my SA and I reviewed my outstanding orders the other week.

i think yes, the second offer can take longer than the first one. I don’t think it has anything to do with the client, but rather low levels of stock. It’s just taken awhile for SAs to get all clients approved for an offer, so a second may be considered icing on the cake. I have been fortunate to get my two offers that I accepted (B30, etoupe, B25 sellier gold) and a K25 at FSH, the last via leather appt, without prespend), but I’ve been very lucky. My spend has been (DH and I share an account), easily 5X, before I stopped counting. I exclude leather bags and accessories from the prespend; in fact almost all comes from mens RTW; womens RTW; and home items like St. Louis crystal.

i think re KTG, ask your SA, if it is very popular in your store, then it might unofficially be treated almost like a QB, as are mini lindys. Not bc they require prespend, which is fluid in the US, but bc if your SA gets you one, she may assume you are taken care of for a while.

ETA: also bought an H08 watch

Agree that the 2nd one might take a little bit longer, especially if you take into account when you received your first. E.g. I received my 1st QB a couple months ago, and that basically gives my SA the rest of the year give me my 2nd :sleepy:. As a positive DP for KTG I was pretty lucky with mine, I asked for one in a neutral color in the beginning of this year, and got one in black with GHW a month later, then shortly after that I was offered a QB. YMMV as with all things Hermes.

Thanks for your input! I will ask about the KTG the next time I visit...hopefully it's not as popular in my store as it is elsewhere, I have a B30 etoupe on my wishlist for my #2 QB this year, hopefully the KTG won't affect the B30.

Nice! Do you feel like the KTG factored into your overall ratio for the QB?

I'm kind of in the same situation, I got my first QB recently, so I'm not really expecting another QB till around the end of the year, though right before I got the first offer my SA made an off hand comment that the quota is more like 1/yr this year, and all bags (even picotin) seems like a QB. not sure if it's still the same stock situation now; I keep hearing that production in Paris has picked up.

I thiiiiink it did count, but spend threshold in the US is so fluid it's hard to say definitively. I'm not a VIP spender, so I feel like everything non-QB I buy counts  . This might be one of those things that vary by store/SA though, some might consider you "taken care of" if they give you a KTG. Fingers crossed, my SA said (as much as he could without actually promising anything) the quota is 2/yr still.

Everyone's experience is different. Every store is different. There is no hard and fast rules. I think it depends on the stock levels and your relationship with your SA. I was offered my second Birkin around 6 months after my first. But offered a Kelly to Go a couple of months before that that I declined. So I think it was easier to get the 2nd offer. I'm not VIP by any means, but I do have a very good relationship with my SA. After he offered my second Birkin, he asked if I would be interested in a Kelly. (Uh..yeah!). While I do shop at Hermes, I'm not a big spender. I didn't spend 1:1 for the second offer. I don't think I did for the first offer either.

Oh boy! Is that in USD and excludes bags / leather goods?
Picotin and Lindy are desirable non QBs; congrats on getting them all within one month in desirable colours!
I hope they are working on something magical for your first QB!
Wow, may we ask which country and/or city you’re in? Hope you get your dream bag soon.
I hope you get a quota bag offer soon! Or have you told them something very specific you want? Just seems like a big spend without an offer.

I meant everything put together. But I’ve spent like $12,000 on shoes. Also random belts and twillies and dumb stuff.

I’m in the US. My local store isn’t that big. I really just want a small bag in gold hardware with a bright, pastel color. But now that it’s been 14 months, I feel like I’ll take anything small and cute, just to have something.

I feel like switching SAs. Until last month, I worked exclusively with one SA. She never asked for my wishlist. I had to give it to her on my own. She also didn’t refund me after a pair of shoes I ordered never got sent. She said she would put it back on my card. A few weeks later, I found out I had an unused merchandise credit, when I was checking out. Also this one time, I had a order that was sent incorrectly. There are… things that make me feel compelled to switch. Especially since my friends say that it’s hard to get bags from her.

A few weeks ago, I was in Chanel, and there was a woman in line wearing all Hermes. We started talking, and it turned out we had the same SA. The woman told me she spent $60k before getting her bag — which was a black birkin 25 with palladium. I feel like that’s starting to look like me, which I do not like.

You should absolutely switch based on a lot of things you wrote, but stock has been so low in the US, and demand so high, that I don’t count non QB in prespend. I easily spent 5X (RTW for DH and for me; H 08 watch, homeware) before my B25 gold sellier. B30 etoupe which was offered last year was a lot easier. I have a great SA relationship, and he was waiting for something I would like to come in). I believe @Tykhe had a similar experience to get a K25, and based on what I read in the NY thread, the 5X experience doesn’t seem that uncommon. At this point, when H clients in Singapore say the prespend is 2:1, I’m like that sounds great, sign me up (Only half joking lol) JMO

ETA: a small bag (K20, K25, KP, or B25) in a bright pastel color with GHW is not easy esp as long standing, high spending clients have also been waiting for their bags to come in :hugs:

Lol my husband keeps telling me my next bag needs to be a birkin 25 because we have too many Kelly bags. I told him I don’t know if I can afford what it takes to make that happen. Might be easier just waiting for another SO (lol)

I don’t doubt that if I spent in fine jewelry the offers would come easier but what can I say? It is just easier for me to buy rtw because I am coming from Chanel rtw standpoint. Also, I buy a lot of men’s rtw because for years my husband has wanted some Chanel rtw only to find their items are too feminine on him

then again, my birthday and our anniversary is coming up. Maybe it is time for my husband to put his money where his mouth is and get me some fine jewelry with diamonds on it.

Tricky question: The last time I was offered a QB I ended up purchasing other items at the time of my offer (after I received the bag). Do those items count towards my next bag even though it was in the same purchase as the first bag?

I did the same thing, and am still wondering if the other purchases that day counted toward the next offer, though I'm in the US, and it seems like prespend isn't so precisely monitored (by the SA/SM) as other regions.
