@Tykhe, @Mrs.Hermess, with our experiences, I think chanel SAs deserve a better reputation lol. :hugs: And, we may have similar shopping habits lol.

I appreciate luxury goods, and I am a low maintenance, regular client who doesn’t have a problem buying beautiful things. I’m also not buying stuff simply for a QB, and I’m not in a rush to get the right one. I also think somehow a RTW SA relationship is more relaxed. You come in regularly, and even if you don’t like one season, there is always another. i don’t usually preorder or know what I want beforehand. Perhaps that’s part of the difference.

i dont think friendships should be forced. If you have to hesitate or overthink, then its not right. Also, SAs can tell if you have an ulterior motive

I’ve gotten offers before 5X, but it took a while for something to come in that my SA thought was really my taste. (I don’t have a wishlist; I told my SA I was waiting for him to find something right within broad criteria). I do think stock was low, and i truly don’t think 12K would get a new client a neutral color B25 or K25 at Madison within 6 months. I do think stock supply may loosen up in 2023. JMO though, and ymmv

Yeah. We normally go to Hermes just to pay a social call. This is mostly because in the past we used to go to Chanel on a regular basis but we can’t anymore since my Chanel SA moved away. When I pay a social call I spend around .5:1 which is easy because their rtw is usually around that much per piece If I am feeling an itch to get a new bag, I will up my spend significantly and then pull my sa aside at the end and say “hey do you think you can get this?”

but for the most part we aren’t spending to get a bag. We are just displaced Chanel customers looking for a place to hang out.

Exactly! But. Chanel has more comfy couches and better air conditioning  :hugs:
if you have to wait a while for your H SA we ended up in the mens side. It’s cooler.

my SA texted that DHs sweater came in and offered to deliver if we didn’t want to go in. We decided to go to hang out, bc we thought the store would be empty. So we texted we would come in at 3 pm. SA’s prior appt ran super late, so after we waited and chatted with the mens manager (we went to the mens side for the air conditioning) we just picked up th item and left around 340 pm. SA apologized, and we said no big deal. I only bring this up bc some people don’t like to wait. Sometimes even with an appt it happens. I was happy for my SA that he made a great sale on a slow day.

Do any of the stores actually carry Petit h (besides Madison Ave where I’ve seen they have it for special events) ? I’ve seen a few pieces I love online, and my SA says she can’t order any Petit h it’s online only… I don’t like to get too spendy outside of purchases with my SA… because I would like for it all to “count” lol

I think it would depend on the SA. When I visit the store and my SA is available, so long as I see her, she is able to place an order for the Petit h items for me to pickup or shipped home.

Also, another question… would you ever keep an item you felt was defective just to avoid a return to maintain your relationship?
I don’t think it matters much, I feel that as long as you know what you like and you let your SA know it shouldn’t affect your offer. I’ve bought bags online and items without my SA, and I’ve received an offer for a Kelly 28 (granted it was someone’s SO) I still think it varies on your rapport with the SA overall. To be frank, I’ve returned purchases I’ve had ordered from Petit h and bags I didn’t like back to the online Hermes site and think it’s all fine.

Is she able to select the color for the petit h items or just the standard randomized colors they send?

I thought a while before writing this but really want to know if anyone else is experiencing the same. Since receiving my first Birkin earlier this year, my SA has basically ignored me. And when we did speak, she actually made me feel guilty for sending a follow up text (which she has told me many times to do). Let’s be clear, I’m not asking for bags and I know she is busy - but when I text, they go unanswered for weeks and weeks. When I do get a response we never actually resolve any requests and then the cycle repeats itself. I’ve never returned anything, have never had an appointment that didn’t result in thousands spent and am always appreciative for what she has been able to get for me. Has anyone experienced the same? You finally get an offer and then they are done with you? Is it a new strategy, like get everyone on the list a Birkin and then come back around? Shopping really shouldn’t be this hard …

Have you tried just going to the store to browse and shop in person with her? How's the interaction when you finally see her to shop?

While a lot of SAs are very busy and therefore take a long time to respond to texts, it sounds that yours is not really interested in you as a client. From my personal experience, my SA remains responsive after giving my first bag and the relationship is still as great. It could be the case that she fulfilled your wish and therefore not going to offer you another bag anytime soon and therefore not very responsive to your texts to not give you false hope?

There are many possibilities of why she acts this way but if you are unhappy about the relationship perhaps it's time to switch SA before you spend too much with her.

Hi ladies,

Just wonder how long does it take your SA to reply your text message usually? My SA was responsive at the beginning but it takes her a week to reply lately. Wondering if she was just too busy or don’t bother to keep the relationship with me.
