I appreciate your advice and reply! I am a little awkward if you can please help me how to word it to her without putting her off. Thank you my dear

Some great advice, all good.

Just keep it simple so no one is confused, “I’d love to see you for my appointments. May I have your card and text you directly?”

It’s never fun to risk rejection but it’s the only way you’ll know for sure whether to continue with her or whether your time/money are better spent with someone else.

Hi All! Great advice on this thread! I am in need of some help. I have an SA in MP with whom I had bought a mini Evelyn from in summer of last year. I haven’t been back since and I also haven’t reached out to her.
Recently I’ve been purchasing with an SA in Greenwich and asked for a Kelly to go wallet. She said they didn’t have but would let me know once available. I can’t read her very well so I’m not sure if she would think of me if one actually did come in. Is it “bad manners” to request the same from the SA in MP? I would do this with chanel SA’s, but not sure if it would fly at Hermes. TIA!

Depends on your goals. Any SA at any brand prefers you shop with just them if they go through the trouble of sourcing for you.

If your goal is to get the Kelly to Go as soon as possible by having two people looking out for you, seems fine to ask the SA in MP.

If you've never worked with the SA in MP more than that one time over a year ago, not sure they would respond to you tbh unless the KTG just happened to be available and none of their other clients wanted it.

If your goal is to continually have one SA look out for you for other items in the future, then you should pick the SA you want to work with more. They can see it if you purchase from someone else so one person is less inclined to work with you in the future.

If your goal is to get 2 KTG's and you'll buy from both SA's, you can also ask both to look out for you - but both might be confused and less inclined to work with you in the future.

Ok got it. That makes sense. I definitely don’t want to go back and forth in hopes of one day getting a quota bag. Not much time has passed since I told my SA about the KTG, so I should hold out. Working on being patient! Thank you very much for your input.

Just my two cents from speaking to my chanel, Hermes, brunello, and dior SAs about this issue. Juggling through a variety of SAs used to be done in the past when there was less competition to purchase (And no hard limits on bag purchases) But, I definitely got the message now that why would they bother to look out for a client who isn’t loyal. All have kind of communicated that there is sometimes a lot of hassle getting stuff transferred; doing holds; horse trading with another boutique; then Getting your SM to approve the sale. (It’s not just bags; last Christmas while my chanel SA was making arrangements to transfer in three pairs of combat boots for me to choose from, I was literally listening to another SA explain to a client that it was not possible to transfer a single pair for a definite purchase). also, if you like your CT SA, wouldn’t you want to give her the opportunity to source your request?

Having said that, my H SA was absolutely fine with my FSH appt, so it may also depend on your relationship; your circumstances; and your potential for total spend. everyone is different, and of course YMMV

Yes that makes total sense!! Depends if you’re in it for the long haul too. Silly question, can’t figure out what YMMV stands for….:)

For me - if I frequent a brand. I build relationships so they’ll remember me to help me in the future. I shop with the same SA for each respective brand: Chanel, Dior, Hermes. If my respective SA isn’t in (most likely I text to schedule in advance so it doesn’t happen) but if it does - I ask if they could ring me up under my SA. And always check my receipt. I shop in other boutiques as well. But mostly to window shop and will wait even if it’s longer to go back to my SA to purchase (even if drive is longer and wait to go in next is longer). I’m all about loyalty and relationship building. And my SAs has always been super sweet and helpful in sourcing items for me and updating me on new season shippings!

@ethornton17 I agree with @880 My SA is also completely cool with Paris purchases and even promoted it and told me how to go about. Because stock and inventory has been so low. Typically - they understand the appeal of shopping overseas. So they don’t mind it. But definitely for relationship building if it’s within your city - they’d prefer you shop with them. And I agree so. How do I have so much money to spend 5-6 figures at each store of my city? This makes my life a lot easier!

Thank you very much for your input. I see everyone’s point. In the long run it makes more sense to stick with one SA, and the journey of building a relationship with them far outweighs any short term goals (aka scoring a desired item as fast as possible).

Since starting with H I've developed a habit of touring local H boutiques when I go out of the country, sometimes if small things catch my eye I'll buy it as a souvenir of sorts, and when I'm back home my SA and I will chat about it when she asks about my vacation, so she knows I visit boutiques in other countries and buys small things, and seems fine with me doing it. If anything, she's pretty curious about how stores in other countries are different from her store.

not sure if this is the right thread to ask, so everybody please direct me to the appropriate thread if this is not the place.

does anyone know if the invoice that comes with H.com orders is different when the SA places the order for me at the store vs. I place it online myself? I just received an order that my SA placed for me on H.com but I was getting shipping notifications from H.com directly (hasn't happened with previous SA placed online orders), and my invoice that came in the package shows the order was placed by me, my SA's info is nowhere to be found on it. Does this mean my SA is not getting credit for this sale/this order isn't going to be included in my profile?

I'm not in USA. I am unsure if Hermes uses the same system globally, but I am going to assume they do.

When an SA is serious about noting a request, they make a note under your account on their iphone. Any other SA that opens your account up can see what's been noted and which SA made that note. Therefore, if you wish to return to your SA in MP, she will see that the SA in Greenwich made a note for KTG on your account.

If your MP SA secured a mini evelyne for you in the summer, then she sounds quite good because all the mini bags have a certain level of demand. However, if this an ongoing relationship or just a one-off?

KTG is quite an 'in-demand' bag and seems to be offered either to existing good clients, or offered to newer clients who have accumulated some spend. It would be quite unusual for the Greenwich SA to reach out to you when a KTG arrives purely off the back of you visiting her at the store once to ask for one.

There has, for the past 9 years being a H customer, always been something desirable I want. As others have pointed out it is advicable to stick with one store and SA if you want someone to look out for items for you, do transfers, hold items and reserve from in coming stock etc.
