Hi all. Thank you for all your thoughtful insights and advices so far. Just quick question, has anyone maintained a relationship with SA out of country? And if you do, how do you maintain relationship with SA out of country? How often do you see them and how to shop with them to score a bag?
I am not based in the US but I have moved continents 3 times and maintained my relationships across Asia and Europe. I also have experience establishing new relationships as my “local” Hermes stores at least 3 times. It can be done, I have never shopped with prespend or calculated purchases for quota bags. In that sense I am very disorganised. It only takes time, loyalty to one SA, and patience.

Ditto. I have SA’s in two different continents. I’ve also never really planned out purchases in the hopes of scoring something, because I’m a impulse shopper. I just buy what’s pretty when I see it.

The only way this really works is if you happen to be in the other country semi regularly (not just a vacation destination you have no inclination to ever visit again). I’d say if you meet a good SA who understands your situation, why not. You definitely need to find someone who is good with texting though. ETA #1: If this location is somewhere you will be semi frequently - sure, shop at your leisure/slowly. If this is somewhere you will only be once a year for a hot minute, you better make a good first impression ($$$$) on the SA.

Keep in mind, while rules are always kind of hazy at Hermes, until you become more established at this other location (again, hard as they don’t ‘know’ you) - the boutique rules will definitely apply to you. For example - can you collect your quota bag within their specified time frame if they require you to transact in person and won’t ship out the bag at all?

Food for thought.

ETA #2: If your end goal is a quota bag, your energies (and $$) may be better left to your local store, especially if you're spending at both (I'm just making assumptions here). Unless your budget allows to spend the equivalent of 2 quota bags in 2 different stores, I can see this getting very expensive and ending disappointingly.

thank you so much for your all great advices. I do enjoy other items as i love. When i was traveling and just pop in H just to get some shoes and souvenirs gift with no thought of getting bag with current stock situation. I met the most sweetest and lovely SA. She is so responsive on text, and also she brought it up herself to put on my wishlist and every day i came in she brought it up herself how she is fighting for me. I was charmed by her personality and really want to build this further. But not sure how to maintain relationship regardless bag or not. But she puts the seed in me for the ultimate goal. I can only come twice a year and not sure how to shop from her. Thank you in advance for further instruction

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but does anyone know if any of the neutrals are significantly harder to get for B? I'm gearing up to give my wishlist to my SA for my first snag. In my heart of hearts, I want B in nata. Is nata impossible to get over gold/noir? Thanks!

Like everyone else said, nata is really difficult to get. The only thing I've ever been offered is Craie CTG. Never seen anything else in craie/nata! You should tell your SA you're at least open to those 3 colors, unless you actually only want nata.

I have an SA in Paris. I went about once per year pre-pandemic, sometimes twice. Paris has more stock so I think it is easier to get a bag without going in regularly. But I think it's difficult now to build a relationship with an SA in Paris since it seems like they're not regularly accepting clients? At least that's what it seems from the "Paris trip for Hermes" thread. I email my SA to make an appointment, but I am not always offered a quota bag and sometimes not even an email response! lol TBH I feel like once a year is infrequent enough that I always wonder if I'll be forgotten

Why not you directly ask your SA what are your chances to be offered a Nata B?

If I were you, I’ll just ask if it is a matter of pre spend or a matter of length of relationship at the store. Or is it a matter of there are too many customers waiting for one….

also I may also find out if there is more chances to get a Nata B if I am willing to accept less desirable specs such as
1. Nata B in size 30 instead of 25
2. Nata B in swift instead of togo
3. Nata B in PHW instead of GHW

If all these fails, will buying a watch change the picture ……lol

Hi! I was able to develop a great relationship with a SA in the Vancouver boutique, but I am from the US. Do you know if it's possible to maintain that relationship and have the SA send you items even though I'm from a different country?

I really am interested in starting my "Hermes journey." I do have an Hermes necklace and bracelet that I bought preloved (excellent condition, at such good deals). Should I wear them when shopping at Hermes? Would it look good (because it shows brand interest and loyalty) or bad (if the SA finds out that I buy their products at non-Hermes stores)? I'd really appreciate your thoughts and insights!!

Thanks! I appreciate your thoughts and the poll results are very helpful! Yeah, I probably am overanalyzing it. I just heard that Hermes (and other luxury houses) don't like the idea of people buying their items on the second-hand market. If I start talking to an SA and it comes up, I didn't want my buying preloved to be a negative.
