In the USA, coveted items are offered from the store not the brand. If the spending wasn’t done at the particular store, it won’t help you get something special from that particular store.
What if I ordered from my SA, who would then shipped items from other stores to me? Ever since Covid, I would not want to go out as much, especially with the recent turmoils in the US now... Would buying from my SA and not from my store as much still be okay for my profile? TIA!

I have come across some said online shopping counts. They must at least able to see what your bought online ?
They do see what you bought but it doesn’t help and can actually hurt. Each store has sales goals and they “reward” the customers that help them reach their store sales goals by offering them the coveted items. Store SAs and SMs don’t care if you spent millions of dollars on the web store because it didn’t do an ounce of good for their store’s goals. In fact, if you spent enough (in some cases, anything at all) online, they’ll get annoyed because they look at it as a lost opportunity to have added sales to their own bottom line. Again, the bags are not offered by ‘the company of Hermes’, they are offered by ‘Hermes store number xxx’.

I really wish they would be more understanding of online shopping given the pandemic.

Agree. My SA always says she will source things for me if they don't have it in the store. She has never told me to buy it myself from H.com. I assume she gets it from the online store. I have even shown her stuff from the online store and she gets it for me. So I assume that's what is helpful to their store.

I’ve just started my H journey and, as I posted in the shopping thread, my husband and I visited a London store. My husband had started the leather appointment first and I joined later - the appointment and profile was set up in his name, and he has bought some pieces for himself.

My question is: is it worth cultivating my own relationship with an SA? Maybe with a different store?

Often there are better choices online compare to the hand-me-downs/left overs in the shops...

That exactly. If you see something on the online store, ask your SA to pull it. My SA's are happy to do so because they know I'm trying to help them out too.

No, unless your H budget is substantial (ie you're spending the equivalent of 2 quota bags a year). I have 2 SA's...but in 2 entirely different boutiques across the ocean. I wouldn't bother if it was the same city, and especially not in the same boutique.

Wanted to purchase sth on 10/20 and my local SA said it shouldn’t be a problem; she’ll ask corporate for permission to ship it (since local store is a bit far from me). Didn’t get an update for a week, so I emailed her again 10/30 and she said they were in inventory, so her request to ship didn’t process. In a later email that day, she was still waiting for corporate and assured me that the SM will send me a link to purchase this week while she goes on staycation (until 11/14). I haven’t received any update or link since.

So my question is, should I email the SM or wait until my SA comes back?

On the other hand, I recently reached out to an SA we purchased from in another state and he was willing to call other stores to source. In the case that I don’t hear from my SA at all when she comes back, should I go ahead and purchase from him? Or would that hurt my relationship w my local SA?

Thanks for your help!

Thank you for your advice! Does this mean I’ll have to shop only with my husband present? Or can I go alone/go alone and mention his name?

It would definitely hurt your relationship with your SA, especially if she brought the item in from another store. Wait for your SA or contact the store again yourself if you need it quicker.

Yes, I’ve had my SA source many items for me. I never buy online... if I see something I like, even on another country’s website, I send her the info and she will try to track it down for me.
This is what I do as well 9 times out of 10. But for things like perfume for example, my SA even tells me to order online because of our liquid shipping regulations, and they are often sold out of what I need.
It hasn’t hurt anything so far. She knows I live pretty far from the boutique, and driving in for tiny things like that is just not practical.
