I'm worried now that I wasn't specific enough. I told my SA any color B30/35 that's not a neutral. Don't much mind the leather or hardware so long as the bag itself isn't a neutral color and the hardware pairs nicely with the color. I hope I wasn't too unspecific now hahaha

I think you are fine! The only problem I can think of is if you told them "I'm totally ok with any non neutral B30 or B35" but then when they offer something that does fit this criteria you end up realizing you didn't want that and reject, multiple times. Being very specific helps eliminate this type of scenario; understandably you rejecting something that is not on your wishlist is much easier to understand than you rejecting something that is actually on your wishlist. But, if you are totally open to colors, what you said is perfectly fine and definitely can lead to faster offers (since there are many more possible choices).

I just had my first appointment with my SA and it was a great experience. She was very friendly, professional and helpful. She placed me on an order list for a jewelry item not in stock, so that will be my next purchase, and I'm already eyeing a few other items that I'd love to buy in the next month or two as well. My question is, because of the pandemic, since the SAs are limited in their hours at the store, and only 1 customer per hour per SA, is it better for me (as a new client) to reach out via text and have her order & ship the items I want? Or is it better to go in store and get the proper face time with her? I want to be mindful of her precious appointment time, but I do also want her to remember me and get to know my preferences/style, and of course for me to get to know her as well.

what I typically have done is let my SA know what I am looking to purchase in my next appointment, ask if those items are available so that I can set an appointment to come take a look at them and purchase. This way, they know what I am looking for and they can make sure that they have it available for me prior to me taking up an appointment slot.. but I still get face time with their team too.

Hi all, I wanted to get your take on things. I bought a lindy last year from my SA and mentioned that I wanted to get a B30 in gold and gold. I've purchased little things here and there over the past year and would check in on updates, he would say no updates or nothing here yet and mentioned that it's a really popular choice and having those in the inventory is scarce. I'm at a point where I'm uncertain whether I should continue on with the wait with him, and whether he's just stringing me along or whether I should switch SAs and start all over. It's been really taking a toll on me as it would my first B i would like in my collection and it's been quite the wait (i've understand others haven't been waiting that long before getting offered a B but maybe it's the color combo?) any thoughts would be appreciated

What if it’s just one or two items? Still worth the time?

“Hi Susy! It’s Betty Smith. Thank you so much for helping me purchase X last Tuesday at our appointment. I’ve been thinking and I’d also love to pick up item Y and Z. Do you know if the store has either of those in stock in the blue colorway? If so, I’d love to purchase them or if you don’t have it would it be too much trouble to transfer them in from another store for me? I could make an appointment to pick them up or if it’s easier for you to ship them to me, we can do that too. Please let me know! Thanks!”

The SA will likely make their preference known and you can just follow her lead or go in for an appointment to see her in person if she doesn’t show a strong preference for shipping.

That is perfect! Thank you (And @corgimom11 ) for your very helpful replies.

I always love your answers and suggestions. Super helpful, but what else would we expect from such a pro? I absolutely love your collection in your profile pic as well.

I second this answer. I usually ask if they have what I want in stock before I come in. I don’t want to waste their time. I always let them know what I am looking for and they usually tell me to come in to look and purchase when the items arrive. Although, last time, my SA texted me out of the blue to ask me if I have time for an appointment. I said yes, thinking that a Kelly on my list has arrived and my SA wanted to surprise me. I came in and there was no bag. She showed me shoes and belts that I have requested previously but they didn’t have my size. I thought it was strange for her to ask me to come in without having anything for me to purchase.

My SA did the same 2 weeks ago, and i got annoyed that there’s no real purchase or surprise. Often when I asked her to help me find certain items, she said ok, but didn’t follow up or confirm that she’s looking for me. I wonder if SAs are happier with clients that purchase in stock, rather than keep Asking them to transfer in things?

it's the color+HW combo. Do not take those walk-in miracles too seriously. Those are rarest of the rarest. It's the shock people get from hearing those stories making people think they are common.

Gold with GHW is one of the most popular combos.
Have you spent close to 1:1 within a year? If not, you may be waiting a v long time compared to those who spend this amount in a year.

You said you have bought little things here and there after you made your B30 request. How much have spent? How much did you spend with him prior to buying your Lindy?

Certainly, they are happier if you buy in stock, but my experience has been they are also happy to get things for you as well IF you buy it when it arrives. Unless you have made prior arrangements. Your SA spends a certain amount of professional “coin” to get things—convincing the SM, bothering the stock manager, calling all over and the swapping she or he has to do to get the thing you want with whatever thing the other store wants in exchange. And— if he or she calls in a personal favor with a pal in another store to get you what you want by your appointment date and you don’t buy it and now the store is stuck with it, that’s probably the last time your SA will bother. So the bottom line is that if you have an SA willing to get things, be very respectful of that and clear about whether you’d just like them to tag an item that happens to come in because you‘re not sure and want to try it, or that you absolutely want an item and will take it if she/he goes all out and acquires it for you.
