Honestly, I don't think it's that big a deal. I would go to the appointment and if it comes up, I would simply say that I did not ask my friend to to do that and let it go. I think the SAs know we want bags in addition to the other things we want and buy. Plus, you already clicked with her and it wont take long for the actions of your friend to be forgotten, since that is not how you operate.

Thank you, you are right it's not a big deal. I will go to the boutique as planned and take it from there

And be careful what you share with your “friend” going forward. It reads to me like she oddly tried to sabotage you...

That really was my first thought! I will no longer be discussing anything on my wishlist with her or how it's going with my new SA. We only recently became friends because of our love for Hermes, Moynat and a few other things we have in common - we connected on Instagram a year ago. I've certainly learned my lesson...

I still follow same rules as always which is go through my SA as much as I can. I think they will very much understand that online shopping is the easier thing to do to at this time and more likely feel fine with it, but personally I want to give as much sales to my SA as I can especially at this time, given that they are without walk in traffic and relying only on local customers. Home goods and scarves are also generally the more welcomed categories to buy in & easier to find / order / transfer compared to say leather goods like a popular non quota bag. As long as you are not in a particular hurry to get the things you are looking for, I’d wait for your SA. Do feel free to gently remind them if they’ve not made any progress in a while...they could have missed or forgotten about it depending on how many clients they are juggling. That would be my suggestion!
In my limited experience, buying online under the same profile is indeed damaging to an (especially new) SA relationship. Those items purchased via your SA will help her significantly. I suggest waiting and only ordering via your SA. I know at my store they aren’t transferring anything in right now so if she hasn’t responded it may just be because she doesn’t have the items and can’t help you at the moment. It would be nice to have communication though!
I've been in contact with my SA regularly. Adding to my wish list and some discussion of what I'm seeing on h.com. There was a scarf that I wanted and there was a very good chance in getting the 'one' that the store would have received (I'm sure they would get more later) however, it was online as well. We decided I would try to order on h.com and if it worked, the one the store would get would go to someone else. I was certainly okay with that. I too believe in purchasing as much from my SA but if I see something on h.com that I really really had to have and the store doesn't get much of them, I will purchase it. It's rare this happens but I've done it.

I totally agree with the others to purchase as much through your SA. They've been good to you, you need to be good to them. Hope I'm making sense. :P
I agree with the other replies to your post. Even though it's more convenient for me to buy from the website, I always go through my SA. I really like her and want to help her out and keep my good relationship with her. If she doesn't have what I'm looking for at the store, she places the order and has it shipped to my home. Plus, my visits to the boutique are the only fun outings I have nowadays, so I'd much rather shop in person if I can than at home behind a computer. I hope you hear back from your SA soon, and wish you luck on building your relationship!
Thank you all for your replies! I can wait on the items I want so I'll just see if I can purchase them through my SA. :)

Hm... seems like maybe she had good intentions, but wasn't thinking ahead of how that may have come across.

Good luck on your appt! Let us know how it goes! :)

Hello! I’m new here and hoping for advice about whether it’s possible to develop a relationship remotely, especially if I’ve never met the SA.

Apologies for the long post but for background, I’m in Australia and the closest store is a 4 hour flight away. I have recently managed to get a bicolour Picotin 18 by phone that I had missed out on online. This was after calling around two months ago looking for it. No one had it available but one SA said he could see the store might be getting it and would put my name down for it. He was pretty frank in saying other clients would be offered first before me so didn’t actually think anything would come of it!

When I called the same store another time asking if they had a Bolide (wasn’t available), a different SA advised coming in person to put in a wish list. I would love to but given the COVID situation, I’m not sure when I can next travel.

So would it be weird if I call and ask to speak to the Picotin SA to put in a wish list? Not looking for a quota bag currently and I won’t be a big spender by any means so I don’t want to be a hassle or waste anyone’s time!

Thank you for reading!

I’m not sure if rules in Australia differ, but in the USA it is extremely rare for a store to be willing to ship items without having met the client in person and have the client sign a credit card authorization form, at least before covid. It was also extremely rare to have any type of leather good (especially bags) shipped even after a well established relationship. Things may be different in your country and also may have gotten more lenient thanks to the pandemic so I suppose there is no harm in calling to ask but I would predict a disappointing reply, unfortunately. :( Good luck!

Curious how often do you shop in store to maintain relationship with your SA?

I just started my H journey this March, followed by lockdown which wasn't helpful.

When were you guys offered quota bags after building relationship with your SA?

I am so sorry that this stresses you out. I hate this. My family moves a lot- US-China-US-India-Germany in the last 6 years... I am sure we will move again and will be punished for it in terms of lux shopping (but whatevs- we get so many life experiences!).

In India in two years, I bought so much LV, they called me on my birthday. But there was no H store in the city I lived in, so I will never get "credit" for purchases. I am in an EU country where I am getting H credit and am on a B waitlist, but the game is not fun and I am considering throwing in the towel and going all reseller all the time (I just got a B35 from a reseller last month and am over the moon with it- it still sleeps next to me every night and on my desk during the day- yes, I know I am crazy). Great for those who have $$$ and live near an H store and can shop there all the time. For the rest of us, lots of research, authentication and let's change the game!

If it helps, I see Bolides often on the EU websites (not daily, but once a week or so). Maybe check in your country daily and at different hours? It is not fun and a pain, but might yield results. And no harm in asking the Picotin SA... When I asked to get on the B waitlist from the SA I bought a Bolide from, I literally said "you can say no, but I have to ask..."

And a few days ago, I shopped at an Hermès store in a different city and so no credit with my waitlist SA for my purchases... Can't win!

Think I will just go into stores and on-line for random H items, but reseller for a Birkin 30 so I can get exactly what I want in a normal timeframe.

From my own experience (I am kind of new to the H game too as I only started buying directly in an H boutique regularly May of last year until Mar this year before the lockdown), depending on the quota bags you are looking for, the spending varies. I got my first offer of a B30 in September after a close to 1-to-1 spending but there was a mixed up and the bag wasn't available anymore. I continued shopping there for another US$2,000 and got a B30 in etoupe Togo ghw. Then continue the relationship with my very sweet SA and got other hard to get items like a Constance 18, mini Lindy, a Kelly Pochette which has a even longer waitlist than a B/K, then another B30 before the end of the year 2019.

I do have to spend though but I think it is just fair due to the intense competition in an NY City store

Forgot to mention that I try going in every 2-3 weeks to make certain she remembers me especially because it was a new relationship

I’m curious too. From what I read, you were offered 2 quota bags within 3 months. Is it possible?
