For advice on how to obtain a B/K/C please go to the reading room in the Reading Room The Newbie's HOW DO I GET A BIRKIN (or other bag) Reading Room

For advice on how to shop at your local store please do a search in Hermes Shopping sub-forum and look for your store/region/country.

As the above posters have advised, no need to overthink and stress yourself out. I know it can be intimidating inside the H store until you get used to it but every so often I like to remind myself that to my SA, it’s just a job and to me it’s just a bag.

My SA is a senior sales in her store so has a variety of customers including some uber-rich ones that prob drop more money in one go than I spend per year. But she and I have a more down to earth relationship and we share client and family stories during my time with her and it’s always fun. Of course I do spend while there - but not every time and only on my terms. I never buy just to please her and she never pushes items on me either. It doesn’t have to be a chess game and it’s your hard-earned money so you should enjoy spending it. If you really don’t enjoy the so-called journey, personally I would consider the reseller route.

Ha! Yes, I agree with everything you said. Totally overthinking it, but... And sorry to whine, but for some of us who can not get the B/K/C, it can just be a little frustrating to read all the "I just walked into the store and got one right away" posts or to hear about the multiple offers that people get. Life is not fair, I get it. And it's just a bag, I get that too, I really do.

Berlin service and me are like oil and water which does not help. I flew to London to get a Rolex wedding anniversary gift because I just kinda didn't want to be treated like s*@% for such a big purchase and wanted to have fun with the shopping. And it was so worth it- bubbles and lovely service at each store! I usually try to do my luxury good shopping outside of my current city of Berlin, but if I have to do this "relationship" thing (which btw really strikes dread into the heart of an introvert), best to stay local.

Would love to avoid the Hermès chess game, and you are right- it's not fun. Just trying to be patient and to do the right thing to get the new-in-box B bag and not screw it up since maintaining the relationship can be expensive.
Sorry to hear that you feel so badly treated. Which store do you refer to - the main store at Kurfürstendamm or the one in KaDeWe?

The above also describes my circumstances, spending habits at H and my relationship with my SA. :drinks: Waiting for that first offer of a B or a K is always the most difficult time, though.

Sorry, not badly treated at Hermès, I was referring more to Rolex/Boucherer/Wempe. And we don't call the service here bad necessarily, just indifferent.

Ku'Damm Hermès- My first trip in was the intimidating and stereotypical "do you even belong here?" until I bought my first bag and then it's been OK. As the thread says, will keep trying the **Maintaining a H Relationship** thing there.

KaDeWe- Went in for the first time on Saturday and chatted with a SA for a bit and then asked to try on a B30 to directly compare it with the B35 I was carrying that day. When I asked if they had any B30s available for purchase, I got the laugh (from not 1, but 2 SAs laughing at me at the same time) and lecture on how it would take 3 years. A simple "No, we do not, but would you like to see..." would have sufficed. I was out of there in 2 seconds flat.

Off to Munich today, will check out H down there!

Hope you have a lovely time in Munich Instead. I like the H store there and they were very professional and honest when I asked about quota bags. Didn’t walk out with one but bought other goodies and enjoyed visiting the store. I was also shown some new scarves&shawls that were soon about to be released, so it was pretty exciting.

If ever you find the time, and have the option, just check if you can go to Paris. I went twice for my sister, once in march and last thursday, both times she was offered a Birkin, the first a Birkin 35 Etain Togo GHW, and the second time a B30, bleu nuit, togo ghw. Sure we all want to play the game, but if you really need a bag, just try getting lucky in Paris by the appointment system. (I'm from Amsterdam, so it's a 5h drive, but it's definitly worth it for me)

Hi, i think around 4/5 tries. But since we live in Europe, it wasnt that big of a problem for us, we just took a day off work, so we could go. But also, i went to the Amsterdam Bijenkorf store, and i was ‘scared’ because of the game. The SA was really very nice and noted my wishlist, she even brought out the “SO” box with all the different leathers and colors, i was stunned and soooooo happy! Apparently they do work with ‘waiting’ lists. 19DB720A-7333-4D2B-9C9F-FCA7B558E301.jpeg

Thanks for your reply.
Nice colors.
I am also 5hours drive from paris but as you get the reply only at 07h30 pm, I am afraid to apply and get an appointement at something like 10 am...
Cause I will not be able to make it.
I might have a trip to Paris coming but only for 2/3 days , that’s why I was asking how many times you tried..
Will see. Happy that your local store is great.
Thanks again

Hi, i understand! We actually got a confirmation for the morning appointment at 10.30h!! So we actually drove off at 22pm, and arrived 3am. We booked a hotel for the night which was very nice, since you get some sleep, get to shower etc. If you wait until the morning to drive off (5am) you will probably not get any sleep because of stress and worry about traffic jams! I wish you good luck in scoring your bag!! Ps, we got lucky 2 times, it’s a gambling game, they might say they dont have any bags that day. Just so you dont get dissapointed :)

That's so unfortunate to hear and so sorry that you had to deal with that. I agree that a simple "sorry, no" should have been their response. Hopefully you'll have better H experiences elsewhere!

I'm so envious of you two that you're able to drive down. Oh how I wish I could do that. We have not been since last year and were planning to go this summer but of course all of our travels have come to a screeching halt this year. We are in the US so who knows when we'll be allowed to visit again. Good luck at your next visits!

Thank you!
I love your flexibility:smile:
I was lucky with 1 B and 1K from my home store within 3.5 mounth. It is amazing and I am very very happy with my amazing SA!
But you know how it is !
It is addictive I guess, so if I have to go to Paris, I might try my luck.
Thank you for your support.

i actually dont own any bags yet. I was solely there for the support! I’m waiting for my local store to get me a bag. If not before september, i’ll still go to Paris. Where is your local store?

Very kind of you to support your sister .
Wish you good luck with your store. And if not, yes you should definitely try Paris as it has been twice a positive experience.
