I wanted to get clarification in regards to the shipping charge for charge-send. Based on my own discussion with a few friends that shop through their SAs that are out of state, the charge send has always been FREE and it is also always a 2-day shipping when it comes to charge send. Is this a standard rule that charge send shipping fee is waived when you do it through your own SA?

I am asking because I was told to get free charge send shipping, I have to be present at the store when the SA is doing the charge send. If I am not present, shipping is always charged per Hermes policy nationwide. When I mentioned about my friends experience, she said that is against their policy.

Can anyone that has charge send experience with their SAs verify if the shipping is always waived or not please? Thank you in advance.
My charge-sends are always free however method I order (in store or phone). HTH!

On a different note, in regards to the $25 2-day shipping via phone order. Based on my experiences, if you do not mention the shipping type you want, the SAs will automatically assume you want 2-day and charge you the $25 shipping. You must mention every single time you place the phone order that you want the FREE ground shipping otherwise they assume you want the $25.

I do not know why the SAs i have dealt with do this without offering options to clients and just almost always charge the $25 shipping when the free ground shipping is indeed an option especially things like small leather goods and silks.

I know better now to always ask the stores that I have not shopped with if they offer the free ground shipping before purchasing. Most of the time they have this option. You just have to mention you want this every single time you place the phone order. I have come across bad SAs too that will tell you they do not offer the ground shipping only to find out they do when I call the same store to ask another SA. LOL.
Ground shipping for me (items available in store) is never free for me. I get charged $15.

I’m going to South of France this month and thinking of testing my luck getting a b/k since it’s a lot cheaper there. I hear RTW items help better the chances of getting a bag. The prefall long cardigans are 1k cheaper in France than in US. Should I buy the cardigan in France to try to get a bag or just get it from my current SA in the US to continue maintaining our relationship?

Why would you want to pay $1k more when you can get it cheaper elsewhere?!? Especially if you are going to try for a B/K in that store South of France. Buying something else will give you a better chance at starting a conversation with the SA about the possibility of getting a bag.
But to be honest, personally, even if I wasn’t going for a B/K, no way I’d pay 1k extra just to maintain a relationship with a shop assistant!

I know that the shipping is free if I was at the store when the charge send happened.

I also know that I get charged $25 for phone orders (which are not charge sends) for items at my home store. And if I charge send additional items from multiple non home stores in the same conversation, the charge send shipping is waived from all of the other stores.

Now I need to look at two receipts when the charge send were solo charge sends from other stores.

Sorry to chime in so late! My experience is the same as meowlett’s. If it’s a charge send from another store (not a transfer), the shipping is free. However, if my store has the item, there’s always a shipping charge-2 day. Before, this would get waived, but apparently H is cracking down on policy. FYI- shipping for bags (in my experience) is $90, 2 day.

$90 for shipping bag with 2-day? Wow. Mine is $75 overnight and $40 2-day as far as I recall for bag like Lindy. Even the shipping rate is inconsistent. Thank you for sharing your experience as well. I appreciate it.

As much as I do love the cardigan, I kind of only would want to purchase one if I knew it would help me towards a bag. (I find any top that is $2.5k+ a little pricey) So although it is 1k more in the states, I know it helps with my profile. I don’t think buying a Lindy or a Constance helps as much as RTW when it comes to trying to get a b/k.

I am also planning on buying a Lindy or a Constance in France (if they have) or even getting some CDC bracelets to strike up a conversation with an SA. I wonder if it would make any difference with the possibility of scoring a bag if I bought the cardigan vs CDC bracelets or a Lindy/Constance. ‍♀️Any idea? [emoji846]

We can add this to the list if H mysteries! Maybe it’s because I’m shipping B35s plus a few other items?

I understand your dilemma as it’s a hard one. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend buying anything you don’t want/love purely to have a chance at your dream bag. I think having some purchase history in the South of France would definitely increase your chances, but I think it really doesn’t matter whether you buy a RTW or a bracelet/scarf/shawl. There was a post recently from one of the ladies who made a few non-RTW purchases in South of France and was offered a choice of two Ks (you might want to read it).

If you really want to get a bag especially in the SoF, buy fine jewellery or a watch. To the value of the bag. A Constance or a Lindy doesn't help you get bags. In fact that would be probably be the bag they offer you after a prespend. I believe they keep most slight after stock for locals/ known long-time customers.

Oh yeah. I read that thread. The fact that she got offered two great kellys got me really excited [emoji846][emoji854][emoji846]

The cardigan, bracelets, and Lindy/Constance are on my list anyway. So it was just a matter of should I cheat on my SA or not at a chance of scoring a bag at a discounted rate. I haven’t fallen in love with too many items at Hermes as of lately so if I buy these few items in SoF I might not have a reason to pop by my home store for a while. [emoji51]

There was a recent thread of somebody getting offered a choice between two kellys. She wasn’t a local and she just picked up few items from them.

As for jewelry, I’m just not as in love with their jewelry. I can get another necklace for the sake of it, but the Lindy and Constance would definitely make my day. You really think I’ll need to prespend to get a Lindy??? [emoji52][emoji17]

Yes I saw that post, I would not be surprised if that Kelly bracelet was Fine Jewellery, but of course I could be wrong. I am just giving my advice based on what I am told by my SA who goes there during the Cannes festival and friends/ someone I know, who are local customers.
